My wife, who is the smarter, and more reasonable half of this institution, and also my dietary advisor, has advised me that cold turkey is no good. She says I should back it down to a couple halfs a day. And I don't even have a life insurance policy. So......here's to reasonableness!

I believe they are changing the recipe, or their processes. Getting better. Actually, getting really good.

WTH are you doing? Is that a stick? Or is it copper water pipe? Or both?
The dogs must have ran through the space. The spigot was bent out of shape and broke through the copper tubing last night, while brewing no less. We don't use this spigot ever so cut it back, filled with marine JB Weld and closed up. It sealed there but apperently maneuvering the pipe caused a leak at the weld inside the wall at the tee. Movie was a nice distraction, but back to my personnel hell. Wife asked if I thought about a fix, "Yes, called a realtor!" I replied. Didn't go over well. Thanks for asking man!

Back at it. It's just a few drip at the tee so JB Weld again...hold up please my friend!

Don't laugh but at the moment I'm drinking "brewed in New Hampshire" Bass Ale. It actually makes me kind of sad since Bass, Samuel Smiths, and Fullers were what got me into English ales 30 years ago. Back then Bass was imported and noticeably different and better than the domestic version but at $11.00 dollars a 12 pack it's better and cheaper than most of the swill my local grocery carries.

Oof! NH and Maine has some really good brews. Maybe not English style but a lot of good pubs. If you want variety check out Portland's Novare Res. A lot of good European selection or maybe Great Bear.

It really not that I can't find great beers because you are right, I live about 15 minutes from Portland and I'm surrounded by brew pubs. I was a mug club member of a local brew pub for 12 years and my closest friend's sister and her husband founded Oxbow brewery. He is also a friend of the owner of Novare Res which I've been to a few times. I also spent quite a lot of time at the Great Lost Bear when I was younger but I'm older now and retired and I don't really fit in with the younger crowds that have taken over most of the popular places. So, until I get my brewing area finished up and start brewing again I'll settle for my cheap Bass and use the money I save to buy ingredients. Cheers:)
