Online friends bad influence. They made me dig the 2017 out of the cellar to compare. I like the 2017 just by a hair

After work and researching property ANYWHERE besides Austin. Please don't move here...just send beer! Traffic is aweful but UPS/FedEx still gets around nicely! [emoji16]

The HB is the lightest drinkable beer I've ever done. Red @ 3.25% bottled last week.

I hear Port Chester NY is nice. Or, if we are serious, trade bad traffic for worse and hit Denver up.

Heard Denver is like Austin in an absurd boom. Place we're looking at is about 90miles west in the hill country. Quiet, no lights to mess up the telescope..even decent schools 20miles away if we decided to retire.

Someone said BA Monday on Untapped...as usual caving to peer pressure with 12% HB Quad version.

Had a couple brews at a local brewery earlier, both the Dopple bock and the chocolate stout were quite good. Will return to Destination Unknown Beer Company soon.

Having a milk chocolate stout I brewed based on a recipe i found on a web page but changed the hops from Willamette to nz fuggles and swapped all the malt for the equavalent local gladfields malts rather than buying imported grains. Beersmith made the adjustments easy.

Came out pretty good for my first all grain stout (ive done lots of pale ale smashed but no stouts until this). Needs a touch more roasted barley for colour but tastes good. I roasted raw cacao nibs, I think I could have roasted them a little more but being my first time i didn't want to burn them. It seems to be still inproving about a month after I brewed it but I fear the keg is getting low. Oh well in addition to the 19L keg i have about 4L in a 10L keg I can keep to see how it ages.

Wife and son drove out to Santa Cruz to visit granddaughter before she moved to South Lake Tahoe. Gave them a list of beers to bring back from them and earned 2 free glasses for the 250 spent. No family there anymore to visit...

Ah, cool! I am slowly working my way into the plaque, but unfortunately we don't get up there enough so it'll be a while, lol.

61 with a low of 45, not too bad...

BUT in an attempt to not rub it in we had like 1 inch of hail yesterday, and it was snowing in the Santa Cruz Mountains (about 45min north of me).
