Freshness may have something to do with it... looks like it was brewed about 4 months ago. Also, it's not distributed up here in Toronto, someone grabbed it for me in the states recently. So there was some build up (expectations were high). Really glad I was able to try it, but also glad I haven't put a lot of effort in brewing one of the many clone recipes either :mug:

I haven't been a fan of their stuff either, but this one was pretty good. My local bottle shop hand selects their own bourbon and then partners with a brewery to do a barrel aged beer. This is the second best one they have done. The first year they partnered with Dark Horse and did a barrel aged plead the fifth that was incredible. Shoot me a message if you want to try a bottle of the mountain town.
