Did anyone else try the Abita Louisiana Spiced Ale? Supposed to simulate the taste of a crawfish boil (bay leaves, peppercorn, cayenne, citrus). I didn't get any of that during the first bottle, but after trying it while eating something spicy, it totally presented itself. Kind of neat.

I loved this beer! I asked Abita if it will ever return but they pretty much told me "maybe". Maybe I could clone it with a base Cream of Three Crops Ale, some Zatarain's Crawfish Boil, lemon, and orange.

Some guy I met the other day gave me a Russian Imperial which was bottled in 6/96, decided to open it tonight and see what it was like. Hasn't oxidized but it's viscous with lots of coffee, chocolate, and plum. Almost too syrupy to drink, no idea what the ABV is but will see how I feel in the morning...
