Soccer game for the wee one. Pics from last night. First was the BOS table at the comp. 52 real Ales, served in pin or from a beer engine.

How were the categories/entries organized? I ask because I judged a BOS a couple of weeks ago using the 2015 BJCP guidelines and the number of beers in the BOS were nearly double from the last one I did, which was using 2008 guidelines. Here's a pic from that one:

I think it was a total of 38 in that BOS panel, and it was a pretty tough BOS and took a long time to get through. I can't imagine doing that for 52 beers after a long day of judging.

Just got back from a new brewery tasting, gave out 1 ounce samples of double IPA that had no hop presence, and English brown that was barely brown and a pale that was blah.

Ask for another sample of the double IPA and was refused. Guess who isn't getting any of my money?

I would have told them so straight up with the standard "not to be a dick, but..." Disclaimer one makes before they're about to be a dick.

Water. Hanging with the GFs grandparents. On my most mediocre behavior, after a few beers.

Name the bastards.

Well they aren't exactly new, but they're planning to open their brewery/tap room in Sioux Falls soon. They are contract brewing out of Wisconsin.

They knew I wasn't real happy and told them they were lackluster. A dipa with no dry hop? Oh, and they call a 6.5% 88 IBU beer a 'dipa.'

Wasn't trying to be a dick but they started it. Lol

It was a real ale competition. 6 tables, 2 moving to BOS from each. Flights were 7-9 beers each. Lot of fun, but a lot of work.

Water, shopping. Booo.

I figured it was them. I already skewered them on Untappd for their 12 week preaging process on their IPA.
