Water. The struggle is real.

Nature valley? Microwave those suckers for like, 10 seconds... no crumbs.

Happy bday @mcbaumannerb

Full Throttle Blue Agave

Holy chit man your a floccin genius. I nominate @psylocide for smartest brewer on HBT.

Water, breakfast tacos and a dr. Pepper trying to reboot the body so I can stop feeling like @cadjockey. Bean cheese and bacon does wonders my friend

I am drinking ice-cold water in an attempt to keep cool, and reading about a guy who is in a work-related presentation but posting here on HBT.

:)

Water, about to consume lunch.

Get to go to opening night of the teenager's HS play. They have only done three full rehearsals. Might be interesting.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. To my defense, it was before the presentation started, this is the south and respect means something. :)

Happy B-day Mark! I will break my routine and have a few for the occasion.

Happy Birthday @mcbaumannerb ! Today would probably be a good day to crack the Fat Vulgar Scot if you're looking to save the Fat Scot until NHC. Next batch is in process right now (took a gravity reading last night, and it's coming along nicely, i.e. 1.105-1.022 in about 9 days).

Coff.

Uh.. so what do you do, if you have a job and two potential dream jobs are breathing down your neck? Hitting this place with 2 week notice would make me feel horrible, not to mention put them in a horrible position.

Make sure you have one of the other jobs for sure, then get the hell out. You dont owe that place anything. You gave them work and they gave you money, that's where the obligations end. I wouldnt ever pass up a great opportunity just because you might make your current employer upset.

If you land a new job just negotiate a 3 week notice for the old job and tell the current place you'd be willing to consider helping after hours with transitioning a new person into your role (with the price being right, of course)

If they are truly dream jobs(and if they pay better that is a plus) I wouldn't think twice about it.

Rainy day today so might as well enjoy a brew soon. Got a single of black is the new wit and some sculpin. Think I might do the wit first.

This would help me feel a lot better about it. You're good. Happy birthday.

Thanks guys.

Like someone else already said, make sure you land one of those jobs first. Then put in your two weeks notice. You can't let your feelings about how they will react, or how you leaving puts them in a bad place. That's not for you to worry about. The employer knows that people will leave, it has to be expected.

You need to focus on you. If it's a dream job, then don't even question it. Don't look back.

I did this same thing about 8 months ago. I knew quitting my job was going to really screw over my manager. But I had been wanting a job like this for years, and when the opportunity came, I didn't think twice. I put in my two weeks, and didn't look back. I'm so much happier with my job now, and I know if I didn't take this job, I'd still be stuck working at my last place, going nowhere.

Coffee. The owner of a new LHBS who happens to be a member here has invited me to preview his store, due to my experience as a brewer. Y'all have seen me in action...do I act smarter than I am? I mean, I'm a well known fountain of knowledge IRL, but I have deferred to the knowledge of this forum in every single aspect of my brewing thus far.

It's called "you're a potential customer" and "market research". Do it. How much you know or don't know about brewing is irrelevant. It's all about whether or not he can make you want to support his business. Seems to me that he's being smart about that aspect.

Last of the coff.

Oh I'm going. What I lack in brewing accumen I make up for in shopping accumen. Prior to my career as a giant target for an entire corporations list of grievances, I was a restaraunt manager, retail manager, and CSR. I'm an awesome customer.

Fresh cup of joseph.

Like the others said 2 weeks is standard. Just do not end up like so many I have worked with and file for unemployment 3 weeks after giving 2 weeks notice...

More Coffee!

Wanna know a fun cognitive psychological fact, people tend to overestimate how negative emotions will make them feel about three times as much when said and done. Don't let your expected emotions crumble ya!

Happy birthday mcbaunnerb!! Much respect for shipping FedEx on your birthday!!

I believe this wholeheartedly. But despite my belief in this, I fall into the trap all the time. I spend days pissed off about something that is going to happen...lose sleep, etc...when the thing actually happens, I'm left thinking "that was it? That's what has had me all worked up?"

I think this should be my theme song:
