No. Really just because I've never done 100% MO and was looking for input as to a good grain bill. Just 12 lbs of MO, you think, then, and forget about getting cute?

EDIT: My past IPA attempts have not been great. Those had diverse grain bills, including crystal. I was thinking simple grain bill this time.

Don't add in any crystal. Keep it as is or go 1/2 mo 1/2 2row. It'll be great. Crystal is overrated in IPAs. Can Even add .5-1lb of table sugar.

Pic. And at least it still was a win despite some sh*** officiating. Not as bad as stripping Vertongen's blatantly onside goal as offside (and at least the officials got demoted over that one), but still f***ing laughable.

What think you of this 5 gallon batch?

10 lbs MO
2 lbs 2-Row

.5 oz Columbus @ 60
1.5 oz Columbus @ 20
2.0 oz Simcoe @ 5
1.0 oz Columbus @ hop stand
1.0 oz Columbus dry hop 5 days
1.0 oz Simcoe dry hop 5 days

Yeast US-05

Mash @ 150 for 90 minutes
Boil for 90 minutes

Yeah buddy! Such a great hop combo. You can't beat it.

This makes me happy. Just the sound of those things make me shudder.

Worst best purchase ever, usually every weekend someone (usually me) gets tazed when we come back from the bars lol.. Wish I could upload a video hahaha

You're packing up a present for someone else on your birthday? That's the opposite of how it's supposed to work you know.

So when is this supposed self-imposed for-your-health-but-not-really drinking hiatus actually starting? Cuz it seems like all talk.

I will know more Thursday. If everything goes smooth, maybe a week or ten days from then. Thanks for the support though! :D

Second pour while staring at my new toy. Couldn't pass it up for only $100. Had no intentions of buying a bike yet until i stumbled upon this steal today.

Not gonna lie, my buddies and myself definitely have been known to do the same thing. Those don't feel good

Been kinda scared to try ska. I don't know why really that good?

This is my first beer from ska, and I'm really enjoying it. Nice kind of sweet malty finish to help mask the 10%. I'll give is an 8.75/10 and I'll definitely buy it again

Here for ya bro

Found a new board online the other day. Last year's model, deep discount. Not quite that great of a deal, but pumped and hoping to get at least one more day riding to test it out.

That's an amazing deal.. You lucky dog, bought a giant once had disk brakes and was meant for mountains but great bike !

That's what I was planning to buy in a few months, a new Giant with disc brakes. Then I happen to search craigslist today and saw this. It didnt sell for 10 days! I couldnt believe he only wanted a hundred bucks.

I don't know. I usually only mash for 60 but read a 90 minute mash may be better for IPA. I don't recall the reasoning.

I don't know if 90 is necessary, but I typically mash my IPA low for a little longer (more like 75-80 minutes at ~149). Basic goal is more fermentables to dry it out.

EDIT: My past IPA attempts have not been great. Those had diverse grain bills, including crystal. I was thinking simple grain bill this time.

Simple is always better. That's why I like FWH instead of a 60 minute addition (I do a 90 minute boil). One less addition to keep track of.

A new board always feels nice! You get it from the-house.com? That place is like heaven.

No, I'm sure there plenty of Kevin's dumb enough to try that hahaha.

Nah, I got a 22oz and didnt see any Sixer's. I'll have to go back to the bottle shop though and see if I can find it in more quantity

In that case I would not recommend a giant.. Don't get me wrong they have great bikes but I have an old GT and a new Cannondale that has lasted far past the giant! One bit of warning if you plan on doing jumps and some stupid nonsense just as I normally do because I may be insane make sure you don't bend the disk... It's a pain in the balls

Nope never heard of it. I think ska is fairly small. Don't really know much about them, but I've got a friend in boulder and she has never heard of them either. I've only seen two of their beers out here, but with beers like this, they're poised to get way big
