Nope never heard of it. I think ska is fairly small. Don't really know much about them, but I've got a friend in boulder and she has never heard of them either. I've only seen two of their beers out here, but with beers like this, they're poised to get way big

Don't trust your friend in Boulder for beer recommendations if she hasn't heard of ska :)

Ska is out of Durango, CO. Modus hoperandi is a solid IPA. Their decadent IIPA is good when fresh.

If feeling adventurous, get a mole stout. I can't recommend the mole, but it's unique.

I'm drinking this.

Ya, i had the decadent. And it definitely was. Mole stout sounds way funky. But im down with funky

Truth. Modus Hoperandi is a good IPA. Comes in cans.

That's the other one Ive seen out here. I'm definitely gonna have to try it now

Ha! I don't get her sometimes. She has some great craft beer knowledge and then turns around and starts drinking pbr's. But her fiance know good beer. Guess I should have asked him :D

I'm typically adventurous but here in NY I just got great divide into Wegmans but it's been in consumers for a while so I will take that as a recommendation lol

Woah okay if you ever travel to another city you need to visit a Wegmans, not just because I work there, but EVERYTHING is there hahahah

Ska is out of Colorado. They have some things in sixers.

Good to know though. Nice to know I'm not insane seeing a sixer haha

First pull of Say Hello To My Little Friend IIPA off the kegerator. Fruity as hell (courtesy of WY1272), smooth ass bitterness, and even though it's only 8.5% it hides it well. I'm satisified with this batch, though it does need some more carbonation.

Beer helps with cognitive reasoning. At least that is what my brain is telling me.

It'll help with reasoning why I'll have another after the first one haha :)

As a prepharmacy and psychology student I will say that's false but a schema of mine also lol

I'll disagree with you, since you're just gonna tell us it's all in our mind and we need more pills. :p

Everything is good. I'll definitely have to scope one out

You have no idea until you go... I hope some less intoxicated western New Yorkers can explain or anywhere else there is a weggies

Hahaha can I tell you that's not the first time I actually have heard that... And well yes that's modern medicine in a nutshell lol

Speaking of which, SWMBO went to wegmans earlier to shop and pick up some scripts for my son who apparently has an ear infection. Decent beer selection and good food. Time for a few beers to unwind. Blurry Grapefruit Sculpin.

I'm guessing some sort eardrop and if it's that bad an oral quinolone ... But we kinda need to explain Wegmans to everyone ... How is the sculpin almost got that today

Yup, ear drops. Doc told the misses it was pretty nasty, but I didn't see any other meds so I guess it's not too severe. Edit- just found amoxicillin too.
Grapefruit Sculpin is delicious.

Done with it, having one more and then bedtime for 5 hours. Yippee.

Having a stone hoppy barley wine, which frankly taste more like their February enjoy by than a barley wine, but I'm still enjoying it.

How do you rate that against say a Bigfoot

I would say that the bigfoot has more of a malt backbone that the stone is missing. The stone is IMO more of an imperial IPA than a barleywine, while the bigfoot has nice hoppy flavors with the sweet malts yo back it up

Coffee. Trying to figure out a schedule that will allow me to brew an IPA this weekend and still carve a pinewood derby car, and still get family obligations out of the way. Maybe the 90 minute mash will be woodworking time...

Seems doable to me. I almost always work a couple of board games into the brew day. Most of our brewing time is spent waiting anyways.... Or at least mine is waiting on temps to rise stovetop.

Coffee. I'm not scraping ice off the sidewalk and driveway to day. Poured a bunch of salt and will let the 45 degree day and rain take care of it. Now if only something would divert the snow coming tonight...

Yeah, I'm sure it is doable, but I haven't brewed in months and do not know if I can afford to be that distracted. But a 90 mash frees up a lot of time.

EDIT: also a bit concerned about sawdust in my brew...

Naw. Extra chewy beer.

Coffee. Boss just got back from a short vacation. Currently scouring his office, wondering where all his work is, interrogating me trying to find something I funked up. Good luck with that. Sorry ya came home to an empty inbox.

Spinach carrot mango strawberry pineapple shake with ginger and coconut water. Oh and banana too.

Delicious although it looks like pea soup.
