You think your fish are gonna keep it up? Good luck with that over the next few weeks...

You and who else? Or will you be sleeping until next week? ;)

11/3/2008? Hops may have faded a bit...

I've learned to age my ipas. Like many of the noobs here.

Dinner! T-Bone, medium-rare, with LeSeur peas, and baked potato with butter and sour cream. Paired with the first taste of my hb McQuinn's Robust Porter. Still needs more carb, but okay. Flavor-wise, not sure. I haven't had a lot of porters recently. I like it; it's drinkable. I don't think it's amazing, though. I'll get more opinions later...hopefully when it's a little better carbed. Goes pretty well with the steak.

What's all this palaver about stout day? First time I found anything from Prairie in my area so I had to grab this. it's good but not great premium price for just okay beer

Sam Adams gets a lot of hate these days but I actually really like this IPA. Dunno if it really fits in with the other West Coast IPAs I've had (I'm not a huge fan) but it is good and its accesible. Being in a rural Alabama I have a sort of different standard for beers I can actually get without driving 45min.

Good beer considering I can get it at the gas station!

Wet hops in a session IPA. What a tragedy. I've really tried hard to get on board with this style, but keep missing the boat. I didn't realize when I purchased.

I've never really cared for anything Ive had from these guys. This is.........not really any different. Drinkable for sure, and I think I paid 7.99 so the value is good.

Every have one of those beers where you like everything about it but just wish it was all "more".

The term Session IPA just rubs me the wrong way. I don't know why but I do not think I have had one that does any justice to the term IPA, and well... Bah.

Third Oktoberfest of the night. Trying to kill the remaining 1/4 of the sixtel of oktoberfest I have in my keezer. It is November, Oktoberfests have already gone bad by now. Pumpkin beers all expire on turkeyday (which I work, wonder if the bosses would get mad if I were to drink at work for it)

In honor of Stout Day (Who knew?!), I'm pouring some of Hello's hb Chocolate Coconut Stout. Wow! My lack of an educated and nuanced palate would have known stout...maybe chocolate. I would have known something else was up, but probably wouldn't have guessed coconut...until someone explained to me why it tastes like a Mounds candy bar with a little alcohol bit and a nice dark chocolate bitterness up front. The body is rich and heavy. A little creme de cocoa liquer kind of coating on the tongue on the finish. I don't think I could drink more than a bomber of this, because it's very rich and, after a robust porter, this is going to smack me...hard, but in a good way.:D

That steak looks medium, aka overcooked. ;)
