One of my HB Christmas Porters for kickoff. Only two bottles left after this one.

Love that setup.

Water. Thirsty. Just handed the extra keys to the contractor. Hopefully the next time I see this place (1 week), there will be some good progress made. *knock on wood*

I guess I could have just asked Wes to do the job and offer to pay in beer. :D

Thanks. What are you having done? Talking about completely redoing our kitchen. Not looking forward to the buildout time on that.

Kitchen floor and backsplash, new baseboard molding throughout, some new ceiling and closet light fixtures, plus some random handyman fixes. Moving in 2/1, so it should be doable, but might be tight...

Luckily the kitchen was recently done, the tile work is purely aesthetic (ie, wife hates current floor).

Some of it is stuff I could do myself, but traveling for work during the week makes it hard. Already spent the last 3+ weekends here cleaning, painting, etc.

finished bottling & having a Belgian Strong I added the Sailor Jerry's than had been soaking oak, cocoa nibs, and vanilla beans. good carbonation, no head retention, and could use a little aging.

Earlier I had the Jose Marti that AllenH sent. I've never had a hoppy dark beer before. At first I didn't think I liked it. By the bottom of the glass, I kind of wished I had another. Not sure what I think of it yet.

I meant to tell you to let it thoroughly warm up, temp plays a huge role in that beer. That is a polarizing beer though, hoppy porters aren't for everyone.

Was fairly cold. I am going to pick up another when I'm down there in April to try it again. My two favorite styles mixed up and unlike other "odd" beers, the bottom was better than the top. Like I said, verdict is out but I think I could drink a few of those.

EDIT: did not taste like 8% ABV.

That sounds very tasty. I recently brewed a black ale and midway through the boil, decided to load it with Simcoe at the end. Smells great out of the airlock. We'll see how it turns out next month once it's ready.

Drinking some Deschutes red chair nwpa after bottling my donkey sprayer ipa. I have been waiting a year for this. Love it :)

Making dinner after another tough day. Waiting for the 49ers' game to start.

Having another one of my warrior pale ales with Conan. My clearest beer to-date. No additives.
