And a pint of the other best bitter. I am getting some black currant, I wonder if that's the Challenger?

I’ve probably drank more Coors Light than any other beer out there. As self-professed beer aficionados, it’s often somehow looked down upon a bit drinking American light Lagers. I have to say though, a lot of us are just beer fans to start with, even before we learned how to make beer. We were there all along, before there was a craft beer movement, we enjoyed beer. We enjoyed craft brew, and imports, and brewing beer. We enjoy following all the new directions in beer. Historically, we like the old beer stories and the hundreds or thousands of years of development, the breweries, the Monks and the whole thing. Beer is fun!

In restaurants, I still drink a lot of light beer and usually have some around the house. These days, I mostly trend towards German Lagers and West Coast IPAs, but I love them all, including a lot of light beer. Coors Light has filled that role more than any for me the past 20 years.

These comparison beer weeks are a really good exercise – good for re-testing your knowledge and pre-conceived notions about beers. A couple days back, I was drinking a Miller Lite here. Miller was my go-to light beer before acquiring a taste for Coors Light. They are both remarkable beers, as anyone who has TRIED to duplicate a light Lager can attest. They are VERY difficult to emulate – any little flaw comes right through.

I think I’m going to go back and grab some more Miller Lite and Coors Light, and do a heads-up comparison. I enjoy both of these lights immensely, but after drinking the Miller Lite a couple days back it has me questioning my preference and beer memory. I really enjoyed that Miller Lite. Almost to the point that the Coors Light is coming up as a touch apple or fruity to my palette. We can’t have that! A Miller-Coors dual is in the upcoming, stay tuned!

From yesterday at Hill Farmstead. No cell service for a lot of the area. It is in the middle of beautiful nowhere. I think it was the first day of their anniversary week. I wouldn't say it was packed but service was sloooow. But hey. Good people serving

I got most of the anniversary beers: double Edward Dipa, golden lager and fiestbier. Plus an aged bottle of the wild Leaves of Grass which probably just tipped above all the others. Great place.

I actually had one of these last month – Modelo Oro is another of the many Mexican Lagers - yes this one a light Lager - with that very familiar profile – all very much the same! Today I’m comparing it to some of the other American light Lagers. Mexico is North America so OK to include - and boy do they sell a ton of beer in SoCal…!

One thing about Modelo Oro – snap that photo quick, any amount of head you can produce with that pour is gone in a couple seconds!

Another example of clean crisp Lager, Modelo Oro would go anywhere any of the others would – great with food, great for diets, great for every day drinking. 4% ABV, I love these 24 ounce cans that state calories based on a 12 ounce can. So, the 90 you see down at the bottom is actually 90 calories / 12 ounce x 2 = 180 calories / can! Still a low calorie brew, it is just humorous seeing how far the marketing department will push the limits regarding low calories!

Race weekend at Watkins glen. Got here yesterday, good racing so far and it's just been practice and qualifying. First race coming up. Lots of beverages to be consumed this weekend.

You’re in my neck of the woods. Definitely make the short drive up RT 14 and go to Tin Barn Brewing Company. Enjoy!

Been away for a bit but I’m back. Some beers I’ve enjoyed over the last few days.
