Last Pilsner from my Sacramento trip - and it’s not even a NorCal brew! Six Point Brewery is out of Brooklyn, New York!
This beer points out a couple things - first is the real difficulty in finding a bunch of Pilsners for this project. Now if I was drinking IPAs this week, there would be hundreds, maybe even THOUSANDS of picks! Hop farmers are diggin’ that!
Second thing - there’s that “crisp” word again. “The Crisp Pilz” is a 5.4% ABV Pilsner. I’m thinking that with all the Ales produced in the US, maybe these Pilsners have that character realized the first time a home brewer uses Lager yeast. For me, after brewing Ales, the first temperature controlled Lager I made smacked me alongside the head like a chunk of 2”x4”. Hey, this is CRISP!
“The Crisp Pilz” is a clean Lager, but I can’t place the hops. It has more body than most, and tastes a tiny bit like plastic to me, maybe it’s the handling, not sure. Not bad, drinkable and otherwise pleasant. Enjoy!

I finally acquired some of this year’s Bigfoot. I’m always surprised how drinkable this is fresh. About a year and a half or so of age seems to be about perfect, but there is something about the citrus piney punch it has fresh.

Never seen this before but very tasty. More like Murphys than Guiness.
I'm so damned glad I don't have to build those things anymore! I'll happily solder up guitar harnesses or amp boards all day, but I've done enough pedals for one lifetime.

Kegging day dregs. When I decided that the Panther Piss Project was officially finished I assumed that I wouldn't brew another batch for several years. Well, today I kegged Panther Piss Classic, LODO v.IV (4.8) roughly a year and a half after I put a bow on the project.
I'll need to floss after this one. Ten days ago, this was grain.

Still checking out these Pilsners, here is another Northern California brew, PILZ Lost Coast Pilsner, by Lost Coast Brewery, located in Eureka, CA. 5% ABV of Pilsner joy!
I can remember doing that drive on the 299 between Redding and Eureka. Boy, what a barf-bucket drive that is! Going up, going down, through the trees, Left, Right, Left Right, hard turn left, harder turn right, up, down, blech! Which is all the more reason for you to buy Lost Coast PILZ at your local bottle shop. That drive - hours of torture! Not worth it! Don’t eat the hot dogs…. FERGITIT!
OK, maybe you took the 101, that’s marginally better. Regardless, drink your beer AFTER you get there, don’t do that drive with a belly of brew even if you have a designated driver!
This is a great Pilsner, give it a try!

Fieldwork Brewing, Space Maze 7% hazy hopped with all Strata.
Erm....carb check on the Panther Piss I kegged 1hr, 45min ago. Not quite there yet, but it is getting a little clearer. Golly but I do love that slight whiff of sulfur you get off a fresh lager.
Moving closer to home, stopped at Compass Mill taphouse.

My mother loved that stuff. When she ordered some at a restaurant she used to make a big show about putting a bit behind her ears as if it were a perfume. It certainly is fragrant!
