Just a few bottles of HB ESB left. Had a good run. Will brew this again, with a few tweaks. I over-carbed this one, around 2.5 vols. I give it a vigorous pour and let it off-gas a few minutes and it tastes fine. Next time will keep to about 2.0 vols.

HB Scottish ale. Drug it out almost 18 months but this is the last one.

Today I’m taking it easy with a Bud Zero, 0.0% N/A lager. This has become my go-to diet beer lately.
I’m getting ramped up to drop another 15 lbs in the near future, so I’m getting my head wrapped around the idea I need to drink more of the lighter beers and less of the heavies.

I've been the only person holding the fort in a group of one for the past 6 months against a party of six.. Making good progress but we've had our moments. Keeping my patience and visiting local breweries help. The cavalry arrived 3 weeks ago. A buddy I've known forever joined the team. It will be good to have another voice. He never loses it. Today he lost it. In engineering this was a sadistic good day.

Curiosity 142 is a 6.4% lager aggressively hopped with Citra, Amarillo, and Nelson. When I needed to quickly get into excellent shape because of the kidney donation thing I tackled the problem by buying a Kolsch stange. It's basically a highball glass (my apologies to the entire city of Koln for the grievous slander). That became my new beer portion...well, mostly.
Additionally, having decided that any ape could throw barley and hops at a recipe until it tasted great, I punked out of the IBU/Imperial Wars rather early and started exploring the 1.035-1.045 gravity band as a new brewing challenge. I've never looked back! It's so much fun trying to coax tiny little beers into delicious things that punch way above their weight. In that respect, I was lucky that I had a fairly wide portfolio of wee little beers to brew. If that interests you, feel free to shoot me a PM. I have recipes and ideas that I'd be happy to share.

Happy IPA day. HB hazy which is not a style I brew a lot. I shoot for a heady topper-esque bitterness and water profile. Pretty good.
Now to wait and see if the thunderstorm I’ve been promised shows up.
Catching up on TV. Hate it when work interferes with sports.
