All the grandkids at the house now and in the pool. We've determined 88F is the perfect water temperature...at least for the youngest granddaughter who has zero fat. 😂

Heating up.

Edit, adding chorizo to the hamburger meat made it fall apart so a hamburger bowl..

Cheers!! A couple days ago I made my tried and true recipe of SW stuffed peppers. I use a mix of hamburger and chorizo, rice, flavored tomato sauce, spices like chilli powder, cumin, garlic, etc. and a one-inch cube Cotija pushed into the filling. Way better than plain old boring stuffed peppers.
 
My wife's favorite drink. Though she prefers Hendricks if one our kids gives it to here for Christmas or her birthday. She says it's too expensive for us to afford.
I need to rummage through the fridge to see if I have any tonic water. I have Bombay gin, but I’m a Robert Earl Keen fan.

My hb’d funky dark with an esb grainbill fermented with French saison and funk weapon 1 aged on wild black raspberries, in my area we call them Black Caps (picked with the my kids, about 1lb/gal) and Pinot Noir condition oak spiral. Really happy with this beer. Super interesting with funk, tartness, berry, and vanillans from the oak. Comes off like a beer and red wine blend and finishes nice and dry with a jammy aftertaste. The tannins from the berry and the oak add a nice touch of bitterness that works well

Just like the political conventions, I say PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT! Here’s my face-off between Stiegl Hell and Stiegl Goldbräu! GREAT LAGERS!

First off – let’s put this one to rest – I think BOTH of these beers fit the Helles category. They are just a bit different from each other. Luckily, I have volunteered to put them to the test!

Looking at them, Stiegl Helles is a few steps lighter in color, still plenty malty. Goldbräu is just a touch darker, malty, but no hint of residual sweetness, - might be like if you mashed a bit of C-40 in the Helles batch or kept the decoction or boil going another 30 minutes. These are really close, like maybe they share more than we think.

Great and similar head, lacing and carbonation, these two are kissing cousins in my book. Cousinen küssen!!! Prost!

Hydrometer samples. German pils and the bitter. Verdant finished lower at 1.008 and is definitely more fruity. 002 is at 1.011.

And a short pour of the west coast pale ale. Not clear yet, it’s not been in the keg a week yet. Still a little hop burn too, but I think it has potential.
