HB stout.
Having a wee dram before dinner.
CSB on this whisky: I bought it 4 years ago at a little liquor store in a strip mall, near my hotel in Edmonton. I asked the clerk for ideas on a Canadian whisky that is not available in the states, and won't break the bank (i.e., under CAD 60 or so).
Turns out the guy knew his whisky and suggested this one. Nice balance of honey and vanilla with rye spice. Smooth finish.

I am sorry for the loss of your friend. Nice to catch up with friends, but sucks that it's under such circumstances.
Can't very well have a before dinner drink without following up with an after dinner drink.

Sparkling blood orange rooibos tea mead (with Yucatan Honey). Bottled back in June and is pretty tasty. Cheers!
A few ounces of HB blueberry mead to evaluate for a competition entry. The answer is it’s okay but perhaps not going to be high scoring.
HB NEIPA after an unsuccessful opening day of Colorado plains muzzleloader deer season.
This is the first beer I’ve had in a week. Been on prescription strength pain meds for my jacked shoulder, but decided beer sounded better tonight.

Random thought - and as I've been imbibng (and leaving plenty of evidence thereof on this very forum) I wonder if Peroni is brewing for them? The few times I've been to Italy Peroni was definitely a large presence everywhere - and frankly is a pretty decent beer if you like highly carbonated very dry beer...which come to think of it pretty much sounds like Asahi

Apint of my Jail Ale clone. The brewery is about 1/2 a mile from Dartmoor prison built in about 1800 to hold French prisoners from the Napoleonic wars. Dartmoor is a desolate place where Hound of the Baskervilles is based.
Drained the syphon added a few drops of the remaining cacao/dark rum… I think it’s going to be good and popular.
Roasting coffee & enjoying a beer. Life is good on this gloomy rainy day.
Trying to tap out the Hallertau Magnum Pilsner keg so I can put the smoked porter on for bottling. So far, I'm only in two pints, but I'm going to do my best! I probably should get the Halloween decorations up sooner rather than later. Spent grain bread in the background.
Haven't tasted Gosling's since the 1980s, but I recall that it was a favorite!
After 25yrs, time for another useless mailbox rebuild...
