Yesterday evening a pint of my Vienna Lager.

High. I mashed at 167. 1.025 OG --> 1.016 FG with W34/70.

To get the OG I used a smaller amount of more strongly flavored malts. The taste is about right, but the mouthfeel (not surprisingly) is thin.

Next attempt I will add malted oats (or maybe rye), mash hotter still, and use a maltotriose-negative yeast.

That beer is a one and only. I made it with homemade malt from grain I got from one of my fuel customers and the cascade hops came from the vine at my mom’s house. The recipe was from Sierra Nevada’s website for their pale ale. I was surprised it even turned out. I’m glad you liked it. @wepeeler got a bottle too and said it wasn’t too bad except for being a little low on carbonation.
I felt like it was a little thin and not quite hoppy enough, but I had no clue what the value of those whole hop cones were that I used.
