Let’s go in the way back machine and have a beer over a decade old. 2010 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine. It is fully carbonated, malty, a little caramelly-sweet, but there is a surprising amount of bittering still there. Piney citrus. There is no hop aroma, just notes of toffee and maybe just slight lemon zest. For being almost 13 years old, this is very drinkable. Not at it’s peak, but not oxidized either. I’ve kept it cold since the day I bought it, and this is more drinkable now than many commercial Barleywines I’ve had over the last couple years.

One of the best I've ever seen. So gorgeous! ( after a few ..."shho c'mown @wepeeler, it'sh just Tang in that glass isn't (hic) it? burp ) 😉

Well done @wepeeler I think you might just have a formula there!
HA! Thanks man. If it's Tang, it's definitely hard Tang, because it packs a punch! lol

Awesome. Amazing you’ve kept it cold so long. Haven’t had one for some time, I think I may pick one up soon.View attachment 806724Let’s go in the way back machine and have a beer over a decade old. 2010 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine. I’ve got a stash of a few things. One of these days I need to do a vertical tasting with all the years I’ve got.

Pothole Filler, another Imperial Stout offering by Howe Sound Brewing. Marathon day on terribly snowy, icy roads warrants a boozy, toasty, coffee 9% stout. Sheesh. Turn your effing lights on!!😖

Sorry, that's my rant for the day. Sip, sip again...ahhhh. Cheers everyone. Stay warm!
