2nd time having a beer for these guys. Nelson, Galaxy, and motueka. The nose is dynamite but the flavor has quite a bit of earthy and sharp bitterness

White Noise, a Weissbier, while getting supper for about 20 guys ready. My turn to cook for our local Lion’s Club. Pulled pork sammiches, coleslaw, beans and pie. I made everything but the pie (thanks, Sam’s Club).

All packed up ready to hit the road. 15 miles to the prairie metropolis of Turner, MT. The standing joke around here, for as long as I can remember, is when someone says ”I’m going to Turner” to reply “Why turn ‘er now, she’s layin’ just right”.

HB all wheat hoppy stout (Saaz). 2.5% abv

Worst stuck mash of my life, even with rice hulls, but worth the sweat.

A nice side action trade with @TheDudeLebowski (frisbee and all). I had to crack open the Evil J first b/c well damn it sounds delicious!!! Well it doesn’t disappoint either. The nice thing about this time of the year in upstate NY is beer mail comes cold and ready to drink.

This is what I get while drinking the Evil J.
Smooth citrus bomb!! Slight bitterness & sweetness that complements each other nicely.
As it warms, a little peach character makes an appearance.

I used to like a Scots Pine Ale, can't remember the name, haven't seen it for a while.
Pine needles instead of hops. Is that what this one's like?
Anyone remember the name?

Edit: sorry I got all excited (drool), found it, called "Alba".
Supposedly introduced to Scotland by Vikings. Pretty tasty...

Edit again: Dammit! From the Williams Brewing site:

"We have not exported to the USA in a number of years due to growing domestic demand. We hope to return someday once we can produce more beer and secure a USA import partner."

Maybe I'll find a pine tree next spring.

2ozs 14 year old home distilled brandy, still aging on valley oak fire wood from Norcal......(added 2ozs water because out of the bottle it's cask strength at 65%)

but i only drink about 2ozs a year, and i still got 3/4 of a gallon left....

It’s a good beer but not nearly as piney as it could be. Nice balance between that flavor and the fruit though.
