HB Session Oatmeal Stout

Thats a great color man! Congrats!Had just enough of my Grapefruit NEIPA for a glass at the end of bottling, and even though it's not carbonated, I'm liking the colour and opacity. The taste/smell is incredible, and no real hop burn. It's pretty strong as well (approx 8.2%) so I'm feeling this already! Nice!
I think I'll add more base/flavour malts the next run, as it gets a little lost in the grapefruit flavour, although the extra oats did help...and a filter during priming really helped this beer out. Cannot wait for it to carb up!! Very happy!View attachment 726960
Think how long it took before power tools.Been working on the barn all day. Who would’ve thought rebuilding an old set of doors from scratch would take the whole day? Dinner and a HB Flat Tire.

That’s the truth. By my estimate, my barn is 115+ years old and I’d guess the door I replaced was original construction. It was south facing to boot and weathered and broken. I used the wood shapers at my brother’s cabinet shop to tongue and groove the boards and assembled every thing with a cordless drill and screws. The price of lumber and hardware now is ridiculous too!! Relaxing with a HB Bohemian black lager now. And my handy work.Think how long it took before power tools.
Yeah lumber is absolutely insane right now. We have to replace our cellar doors and its most likely going to cost about 500% more than it would have like 15 months ago. But it needs to get done sooner rather than later (plus i'm going to die on the stairs if they don't get replaced as well). That’s the truth. You are DEFINITELY the "cool" grampa man! Imagine your grandchild talking to friends in college: Friend says: "you mean your grampa can fix my truck AND give us home-brew beer? excellent!" lolHB Blonde Ale after replacing the fuel pump in one of my grandson’s college friend’s pickup. A 91 Chevy with 207K miles and what appeared to be the original pump. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one last that long.View attachment 726983View attachment 726984
There’s 6 of them sitting around the table right now. They’ve inhaled most of the ginormous kettle of chili my wife made, a growler of homebrew, and put a dent in the 30 pack of Miller Lite my grandson brought. You are DEFINITELY the "cool" grampa man! Damn you do it right and don’t just drop the tank!HB Blonde Ale after replacing the fuel pump in one of my grandson’s college friend’s pickup. I used to watch that show when I was younger too. I thought it was so cool the way that dude built everything with hand tools. The one was absolutely addicted to that Woodwright's Shop tv show that used to air on PBS.
Moving the box back takes about as much time as draining the gas tank. It reduces the time it takes to replace the pump by about 75%.Damn you do it right and don’t just drop the tank!

IMO...I'd pull a bed over dropping a tank 10 of 10 times if I had to. Sadly, I tend to have end up working on cars more than trucks so there's not a choice, fortunately access panels are usually a thingDamn you do it right and don’t just drop the tank!
