Warming up to around 80 today. Supposed to rain most the day tomorrow...of course, now that I found out golf is back on.

Where it all goes wrong. Adding a 12.5%er RIS in mid day. Nice flavors. Definitely best beer from my original city. GBR!View attachment 675992
So...do you gotta were a mask while you're golfing? I heard it was a city ordinance for Austin.

Still having neighbor/property line issues. Got a professional survey completed today. Matched what I expected and now there are stakes clearly showing the boundary. Hopefully that will get neighbor to leave me alone. But I’m not confident. Wanted a beer to finish out this day... And listening to Tool. Really liking this latest album.

You're HB stout looks to be coming along nice. I remember you weren't happy with your stouts. How's it taste and what was the biggest change for improvement?

It’s been a struggle for sure. This batch is good, but still not quite where I want it. My biggest problem was my switch to BIAB. I’ve been trying to keep this true to Draught style at around 4.2%. Doing a full volume mash with a smallish amount of base malt was making the mash way too thin. It also resulted in some problems with my salts and pH levels. I got some advice from @PianoMan and switched to a thicker mash with a sparge that seemed to help a lot. This particular keg only has a pint or 2 left. I have a new batch fermenting now that had a sour beer addition near the end of the boil and I am using S-04 yeast as opposed to previous batches with Nottingham. I’ll know in a few weeks if I’m any closer to my goal. Regardless, I always have a stout on tap.
