Its near wrightville beach right off oleander and greenville loop. Their core line is trash, but the brewery only stuff is really good. I also highly recommend New Anthem, Wilmington Brewing, and Flying machine.
Where’s that brewery located? I’d like to try that next time I’m there to visit my brother in law. We usually end up at Wrightsville beach a couple times when we’re there. Last year we stayed in the beach houses at Johnnie Mercer’s Pier. I’ve been to the Front Street Brewery and thought it was good.

Sampling my new chocolate hazelnut porter. It’s a little young but it’s neither very chocolate nor nutty... tastes decent, just not as flavorful as I hoped. I do get a little bit of boozey taste when it warms a little. I soaked 8oz of cacao nibs in just enough vodka to cover them for a week before racking the beer onto them for another week before kegging. People say vodka is neutral/ tasteless, but I can always taste the alcoholic “bite” when it’s added to anything. Is this normal or am I more sensitive to the flavor than most?

My youngest is a bad influence. We stopped at a bottle shop (my favorite) after her lacrosse practice since we were already out that way. I wanted to get a few new beers (singles usually). She would point out the beers she thought I should get based on the label design. Then she saw Sue and said I should get a can. I said “It’s a really good beer but I’ve had it before and just got a can recently”. She then replied “Since it’s really good, you should get a box of it” meaning a 4-pack. She then grabbed a 4-pack to put in the basket. Who am I to say no to her?
Every time I see Sue I can’t help but think of @LoneTreeFarms, for he introduced me to Sue for the first time as well as other TG beers! To that I say, Thank You to @LoneTreeFarms.

What IBU level is that? I'm a malt guy, and over about 50 IBU makes me gag, so I generally avoid IPA's. Are there any IPA's out there that tone it down a wee bit?
Same boat. Don't know about most IPA's cause I avoid them like the plague but Mad Hatter, which calls itself a Midwest IPA is very tolerable.

Let it sit for awhile. I brewed an RIS back in June that had similar problems at 2 months. Popped one on November 4th, and it was a chocolate bomb!

Is that the one we're working? 8oz for 5gal should be plenty but never took that approach. It's probably just young.

Just had my second job interview this week. Both were from different organizations. This was the first time in my life that I've been offered a job on the spot. Now I'm celebrating with some Killer Boots caramel porter from Verboten brewing company. Tastes like success!View attachment 651599

Congrats!!
