Wouldn't be Maine if you didn't get stuck behind Farmer Joe. At least he's not hauling manure.

Actually, the AL track is George Barber, the dairy products mogul. Beautiful park, often referred to as the Augusta of racing. There's also a museum on site with over 900 motorcycles from the very earliest to the latest models. You're right about the racing: 2.38 miles, 17 turns. Talladega is 2.66 and only has 4!😉

Ah! Okay, that makes sense. I was trying to get to Alabama via the Skip Barber site and it didn't work. I figured the track was just sponsored by Skip or something. Makes sense now. Thank you for clearing that up!

Sorry about the dumb assumptions--and I did spend some time looking at his collection of bikes. He has some serious beasts. It's well worth the click!

Okay, time to go to bed. The Niners are about to kick off and I don't want to ruin my night.

@Bramling Cross These were the only two the Etsy seller had. Vintage West Germany. If you search vintage glass beer stein you are bound to find something you like in your price range. I found a pair of so-called baby steins that probably hold about 8 oz, but the seller was in the UK. I hope that’s at least a little helpful to anyone that’s in the market for such things.

You should've seen mine last month! The Bods is due to kick any day now and I think that was kegged in August. I would gladly share a pint of your best bitter with you. At any rate, you have me beat with your beer engine. Here's my hoopty beer engine...

Feel free to laugh, I certainly don’t take it seriously. It’s not too shabby with leftover dregs from the fermenter on kegging day, though. It’ll shove a nice head into them and knock some CO2 out of ales that I've over-carbed.
I'm all for sharing.... the beer engine was my xmas gift from my wife, ima lucky guy. However she loves the cask style beers so I think she had an ulterior motive. Not laughing, it might look jenky but it works, all that matters.

No, it's Anything But Dry Thursday because the damned Niners are choking playing tonight.

Here's my plan.

1) Drink two three beers while making a colossal Mexican dinner.

1a) Realize that <4% UK ales are over matched by this task, switch to German lager.

2) Drink a beer while eating that colossal Mexican dinner. Clean the plate and lick it clean...no carbs left behind!

3) Fight off the colossal Mexican dinner coma and do the dishes, have a beer while doing so.

4) Long hot shower. Stop being so cheap! Drain the water heater.

5) Go to bed and enjoy a restful night prior to kickoff.

Step one is complete, will be switching to step 1a) momentarily.

Anyone in the North East seeing the Northern lights? OT..beer
Here you go. From tonight around 7:30pm in my backyard.
Now roasting coffee and enjoying this stout from the cellar.
This aged really well. Amazing barrel character, strong chocolate notes, hazelnut then follows but no vanilla. Smooth, thick and not boozy at all. 🔥🔥🔥
Not sure why it’s putting the photos in the reply. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Paulaner, since 1634 is one of the major Munich brewers - and they make a whole slate of terrific brews! Paulaner is also responsible for producing the model Festbier currently used at most Oktoberfest celebrations worldwide, they know what they’re doing!

Paulaner Pils is one fantastic Pilsner. Advertised as a Bavarian Style Pils, this is a delicious 4.8% ABV beer. A lot of Pilsners are hop forward enough to lose the malt backbone. Not with a Paulaner Pils. I’m picking up a nice malt base, tasty and delicious, but hoppier than say a Helles as you would expect.

I jumped onto the Paulaner website and their Pils is brewed using Hallertauer Tradition and Herkules hops. Great Continental hopping additions make one great Pils! Prost!
