Everyone does it differently. Just get the basics and brew it your self. For a first time all grain I'll suggest doing BIAB. Little equipment and the cheapest/easiest why to go to all grain instead of a 3 vessel system. Once you switch you'll never go back.

I was just doing partial mash BIAB, but got a 10g MT for xmas.. so I kinda gotta move it on up now. Looks like I definitely just need a bigger brew pot. I think I only have 24 qt.

Yeah its just information overload. Each video has someone doing it slightly different and anything in type, people start throwing numbers and funky terms all over. It seems impossible to find some straight forward directions. Maybe I do just need to start drinking before I do it and Swedish Chef the hell out of it.

Nice! Just make sure to buy bigger than you think you need. I have a 16 gallon BK and have already found that I may need a bigger one in the future.

I have two burners, one for my BK and one for HLT. The first burner I bought and the one I use for my BK is this one. It was a little overkill for 5 gallon batches since its 210,000 BTUs, but is perfect now for when I do double batches and start with 14 gallons. It can supposedly boil up to 1bbl. The other one I have for heating my keggle HLT is this one. Its an awesome burner and uses less propane, but takes some time to get things to boil.

The banjo burner is a beast, no doubt. But it does chew through the gas so if you go that route make sure you have an extra tank (especially at the beginning when you are learning how much you go through on a brew day.) I'm probably going to get a lighter-weight burner to fire my HLT soon, but get by with just the banjo right now without too much trouble.

The one I have linked (if that is what you are referencing) isnt actually the Banjo, its the Bayou classic. I can agree that is eats through propane quickly though haha. I have found that different brands of propane burn different. With Blue Rhino, I was lucky if I got through brewday on one tank. I now get mine refilled at a coop and one tank will last 2.5 brewdays. Huge difference!

My burner usually get about 3-4 brews per tank. I save a lot of propane once i got an electric hot liquor tank. Love it and need to go full electric but need a 220V out side also switch to natural gas will be nice too. :rockin:

I probably should have started with the banjo burner, but glad I have the bigger one now. Plus its a good workout lifting that 40lb beast and hauling it around on brewday.

I need to find an all-grain brewing class in town, all these videos stress me out lol...

Or maybe its all the coffee. Having another coffee with my coffee.

Find a method that makes sense to you and roll with it. It will go easier if it seems simple/you understand it. Everybody does it differently, but we all end up with beer one way or another!

It really is a great burner for the price. I have boiled up to 9 gallons of water with it before, Im sure it can handle more.

I'm late to the game, so bear with me... but. ....

I've never understood the logic that if team "A" beats team "B" at the beginning of the season they're somehow forever better than team "A" no matter what transpires for the rest of the season. For instance, take the Baltimore Ravens in 2012... they lost to The Eagles which finished the season 4-12. By the same logic (and I'm not picking on you @Remmy, I've seen this same response elsewhere) this would make the Eagles better than the Superbowl Champion Ravens... in a 13-15 game season, things aren't so black and white imho, but I try to remain subjective.

However, I do think @Bucknuts went a little overboard, but who cares, drink a beer and move on! Enough of my rant...
