Doing a side by side comparison.
My HB is very similar only being just a little bit more bitter

Well it's been a s**t weekend, Friday night we had a storm come through, 1am sounded like hell in my yard. We lost about 20 trees just in the yard, power just came back on a little bit ago. Luckily, other then the chicken coop and some smaller things no major damage. House and cars and people and animals all good.. I got my work cut out for me now, been running the chainsaw since 6am yesterday morning, with a few brakes of course, helped the neighbors too, and we got some help as well, but this is gonna be months of cleanup and recovery.... I need a tractor haha..

Admittedly glanced through your post initially. This is no joke. Really awful as I've gone through some similar things but in the winter, of all things in Central Texas. We should all appreciate your struggles. Please, really, PM me an address and favorite style. You need some goodies!

Finished mowing the lawn right at dusk, that deserves a beer! Munich helles with Murphy & Rude malts (Charlottesville VA) and Mt Hood hops, triple decocted. Rather pleased with this one, although I under estimated my efficiency and it's closer to 6%.

cheers

Karl Stauss is another favorite and well-loved San Diego brewer. I had some Mahi Mahi tacos and a flight of beers last time there – The tacos were to die for, and the beer was excellent!

Today’s Westie is their Tower X West Coast IPA. It’s a 7.3% ABV middleweight of an IPA, with all the San Diego area towns listed at the bottom of the can. Back in the day I’d call a 7.3% ABV IPA a heavyweight – now with all the 9%+++ ABV IPAs out there, a 7.3% seems a bit more diminutive. HA!

Tower X comes to us in a fantastic 19.2 ounce stovepipe. I’m noticing a lot of lower production brews coming to us in plastic-labelled, shrink-wrapped aluminum cans. I wonder if that might be an economical way of doing small-batch can labelling without the commitment of a specifically printed aluminum can. A great way to label seasonal and limited-release brews for sure!

Karl Strauss keeps knocking it out of the park with their SoCal area restaurant / brew houses. Tower X has noticeable pine and citrus notes, great clarity, reasonable head and great lacing. Enjoy!
