Go Gauchos!Any time I get to try a new brew, I get genuinely excited! Having three beer-loving daughters also keeps old Beermeister32 tuned up a bit in the world of new brews and trends. So when Daughter #1 told me about the new 805 Zero being released, I really got excited! Truth is, I drink a lot of diet beer as well as the yummy good regular brews. Trying to drop a few pounds this year, hence the diet beer.
Said beer-loving Daughter #1, “I love Firestone Walker.” As a graduate of nearby UC Santa Barbara, she should know! They drink more Firestone-Walker there than Festbier in Munich!
OK, Ok, Maybe Munich has them beat. Anyway, how does this taste? WELL….. You know, I like Firestone Walker. Their regular 805 and Union Jack are both perfection. Not so much with this turkey. This one is a Bubble Gum Bomb, very estery and not in a good way. I’m not sure if this was brewed as an ale or a lager, my hunch is it started life as an ale, they seem more touchy when brewing light versions. Me Dunno. What I DO KNOW, is that I only have to suffer through 5 more cans of this. Guys, what is going on here?

That's a really pretty glass! Congrats on finding the beer to put in it!When I bought this thrift store glass I had never heard of the brewery so I was tickled to find this unfiltered rotbier at Hop City. Roasted bready malt, a little caramel, subtle sweet fruitiness, medium body, 5.2%. A couple of months past BBD but a very tasty brew.

Holy smokes, that does sound good!HM ginger beer. On a whim, I added about a shot of triple sec. The orange and ginger play very well together!

Pshhhh, me too but what are ya gonna do??? Uhh on topic... hmmm I need a beer, BRB.It could still use a bit less gas
I've got Beersmith open right now and I'm writing up Rish's Ginger Ale as write this.I use fresh but have made a tincture using dry to supplement if it's not where I want it. 8 ounces fresh per gallon is usually the right amount for my taste. Dry makes it hotter than fresh does. I get the ginger root at an Asian market that is much cheaper than local grocery stores. Give it a try!
Got it, having an all day at night, bier de garde in the fermenter.Pshhhh, me too but what are ya gonna do??? Uhh on topic... hmmm I need a beer, BRB.
My buddy and fellow homebrewer took this last night, he's less then 10 miles from me but I did not get a look at it.... yet
