NODA radio haze. Decent commercialized hazy ipa. Poured from a keg at my local club. Zero head retention but still solid flavor.

Do you know where that smoky essence comes from? Yeast? I get that from a lot of European beers. I initially thought it was due to beer being brewed in 500yr old vat...😂.
Do you also taste it in German Pilsners and other German lagers? If so, I wonder if you’re tasting what I’ve discussed with others about the “German lager taste”. Some describe it as a subtle grape flavor similar to a Welch’s white grape juice. Some think it comes from decoction mashing, the use of sauergut to adjust mash pH, certain German grains, possibly yeast, and/ or a combination of all the above.

OT
Drinking a HB Irish Stout while actually making a batch of sauergut for some upcoming lagers I have planned.

Pretty sure it's more of the darker beers. Could be my old man taste buds mistaking as roast.

OT, for $3.50, not bad for a 110F-RF day..

Our governor, who just signed into law employers DON'T have to give outside workers a 10min hydration break every 2hrs, resides in an air conditioned office. Well, the rebel I am, watch me!. Electrolyte concoction. Oh, and I threw in some vodka but please don't tell my boss. I know him, he's such a A-Hole! 😏

Had to close the dog door to keep this old man from keeping me company.

A smoked Schwarzbier. Been a LONG time since I've had 1. Trying to decide on my next brew to place my order. A cherry-smoked Schwarzbier coming up!!!

Abbott needs to go away. Let's see HIM work in this Texas heat and humidity without a hydration break for 10 minutes! I say drink (vodka) at will, brother...

And to stay in the spirit of things... Taste-testing a no-boil Blueberry Hefeweizen. My first no-boil. With this result, why didn't I start it years ago?????
