A solid no adjuncts imperial stout but it has a bit of a licorice twang to it on the backend.

They are doing something called a “Brewer’s Series” where they are doing small batches of different styles. Although a small batch for them isn’t very small.

The coffee and coconut are there. No green pepper from the coffee which is good but it tastes like burnt Starbucks coffee. Thinner body than expected. Not boozy either.

Ultradestroyer Imperial Licorice Stout by Howe Sound Brewing out of Vancouver, BC. Yes! Made with Star Anise, Clove and Licorice root. Very smoky, super malty and after a chilly +1º C day fishing with leaky waders, the 10% hit is a welcome way to heat up. Cheers!

Best beer I've had from these guys and everything from them has been solid. I wouldn't say dry hopped is English to me but it's got a good punch from the Aramis hops. I guess it's a smash. It's simple but simple is good a lot of times. All the beers have nice lacing and this one puts it altogether at 6%
