Let me know if I over-post!
A couple weeks ago, actually the bottle's empty, will fill later.
I had a Dunkelweizen and a brat with red cabbage and potato salad.
Taking a break after an interesting brew day. Made a couple modifications to my Putt-Putt Pilsner recipe to try to bring it more in line with a true Czech Pilsner.
Couldn’t get my homemade burner to work and thought I was possibly low/out of propane. Swapped out 100 lb tank with one I knew for sure had plenty of LP… still nothing. Finally discovered some multi-legged critter took up residence inside the orifice and it was plugged. Disassembled, cleaned and had fire!!! Next my Cereal Killer wouldn’t crush my grain. Free roller wouldn’t catch and help pull grain through. Finally widened the gap and it worked like a champ, tightened the gap and milled a 2nd time. Finally back on track!!! Remaining process went well. Brewery cleaned, wort turned out great (a couple points higher than predicted) and in the fermentation fridge cooling down to pitching temperature.
HB Irish Stout
Fletched crossbow bolts for SWMBO today, so I deserve a treat. It's 9.6%, really smooth, nice roasty notes, and a lean body; not like a thick Imperial Stout.
Enjoyed the mixed variety pack from Sloop Brewing this weekend down at the family property. Took my youngest, her friend and our three dogs. Our oldest just started walking again this past Wednesday after having meniscus surgery six weeks ago. So she and the wife stayed home.
Lots of time hanging out with family, fishing, a few beers (it was damn hot), cut down seven dead trees and being outside. This is my happy place!!! Especially since there’s little to no cell service!
These and many others I didn’t get pics of! Last X2HB DIPA. Great trip with no cell service. The Tecates I was channeling @Section1 at the local Door County Wisconsin Mexican restaurant!
