Hey, just wanted to share. This is my 5th batch of extract with specialty grain. So far I have been using Us-05 so that's my benchmark. I'm used to pitching the yeast, then waiting an excruiciating 12 hours for a sign of life from it.

This time I went with a german dunkel, so I got WB-06, for wheat beers. Pitched literaly 3 hours ago, then went on the computer. All of a sudden I hear a loud bubbling sound comming from the fermentor. Now it's bubbling every couple of minuets. I didn't think such a thing is possible. Temperature may also have something to do with it. It used to be very hot where I life, around 80 degrees. Now it's closer to fermenting temperature, around 75 degrees.

I also pitched higher than I useally do. I useally pitch at 77 degrees but today I tried pitching at 86 degrees.

Anyways just wanted to share. Anyone else with simular experiances? What are your thoughts?

While I have never used that specific yeast I would use caution pitching at that high of temp. There is very few yeasts that can handle that high of temp with out causing a serious fusel alcohol problem. The only one I know of is 3726.
