So I'm putting some hop crowns into the ground today (8 total) but I'm unsure where to position them due to watering needs. They include 2 Chinook, and 1 each of Cascade, Centennial, Late Cluster, Southern Brewer, Comet, and an old heritage variety from Michigan called Petoskey.

I read yesterday that planting Centennial and Chinook next to each other isn't good since their water needs are very different. My question is, do anyone know of an online resource that shows watering needs of different hop varieties?

You may want to check out Great Lakes Hops website. They sell hops but the website also has a lot of info about growing them.

The main reason I haven't tried growing hops is that we are on crazy water restrictions. I'd be interested in learning which variety uses the least water per pound harvested.

You could get a couple of store bought gallons of water and after you use it up, fill them up inside the house. If anybody says anything, tell them myob or just say you’re using store bought water. Really it’s only the root system that needs the water. You could probably water 3 or 4 hops pants with a gallon of water per day or every other day depending on your soil drainage.
