I have pretty hard water from my well. does anyone else have well water that is hard? i would like to get a filter but dont know what kind to get. Any suggestions?

The filter you need is a RO unit. There are no other filters that can significantly alter hardness. On top of that, hardness is not a problem unless the hardness includes iron or manganese. Its alkalinity that you need to worry about. Sending your water off to Ward Labs (about $16) would be a really good investment.
