I too love destiny, but don't like this pay to win model they've evolved into.

Oh, trust me.. if you couldn't tell from previous posts, I prefer a more masochistic style of gameplay. I don't like pay to win. It just came with the expansions. When I logged back in, utterly confused and lost.. you know how that goes:

I found that my hunter was level 26. Previously, I had played a warlock to level 20 before restarting on a different account. If I hadn't played through earlier content a few times, the level boost item would've rotted at the postmaster. However, since I had and all my friends have one of each character, geared and level 40.. I took the boost on a titan so I could eventually catch up to them. We'll see how it goes. Who knows, they may be too geared to even want to play with me and I'll just end up in pvp all the time anyway.

I really like destiny, the only issue I have is doing the same missions over and over just to get better gear. I like the idea of a never ending game. But I feel like a hamster in a wheel sometimes.

This is why I stopped playing after 2 hours. It got so boring. I keep saying to myself that I will try it again but I just remember how bad it was.

I don't consider fast leveling PTW. PTW, to me, is having to pay for items that you can't get while playing and those items are much better than what you can get in game. You can level to 25 without paying for it so paying to start at level 25 doesn't give that person an advantage over another player already at 25. If anything, that player that paid to start at level 25 has a disadvantage because he/she doesn't have level 25 gear. Though why pay to start at level 25. Isn't the point of paying for a game to play it which includes leveling up.

And for those on Steam, Holiday Sale starts tomorrow.

This is my mindset. I am a player who prefers to earn levels/ranks rather than buy them. I also try to teach my son this who is eager to spend all the monies to buy status, gear, etc...

This didn't have to turn into a thing. It came with the marked down, overpriced expansion, so I used it because levels 1-25 are nothing and all my friends are 40. Just using it to get a second character a head start at being able to raid with them. It's not PTW, it's just a convenience. It gave the levels and a set of mediocre gear that will be replaced in less than an hour, the character however, has zero skills still (besides the grenade). So it will take some work. I don't really see what is winning about it. I did one set of bounties and went from 25-28 on the hunter.

I got my XB1 early this year and have done nothing but play the crap out of Elder Scrolls Online... anyone out there also happen to play? Specifically on Ebonheart Pact faction

I am on PS4 and just put it down when all these new games came out. It was a necessary break though, I played the hell out of ESO. I was Aldmeri Dominion. I'll be going back to ESO pretty soon I'm sure, especially with the new expansion.

Does anyone else play Warhammer End Times: Vermintide at all? It's basically L4D meets Chivalry - 4 player coop, heavy emphasis on melee, multiple player classes.

It's about $25 on GreenManGaming, with voucher

What thing did this turn into lol

I don't think anyone is telling you not to do what you want to do. We are just expressing our opinions on the matter. I'm agreeing with you that it isn't PTW. Buying levels is something other players can do for free. It just takes time. PTW is buying items that other players can't get while playing the game. Fast leveling to 25 is fine. Doesn't bother me any. I was just stating my opinion that I enjoy leveling up, which is why I buy the game.

What is GreenManGaming? I just checked it out. They have games on sale that Steam does not but it says you need Steam to run it.

It's a site that sells game keys (legitimately) for Steam. They run their own sales that are independent of Steam; you can almost always get new releases for 20% off or thereabouts. Basically, you have to have steam installed, then you purchase the game through GMG - they send you a Steam Key, and you activate it on Steam.

Great Old Games (GOG) is a similar service.

Interesting. I guess I'll have to keep my eye on that site too.

Had a freak game on Black Ops 3 last night. I logged on to play two matches while dinner was cooking since my friends were on. I didn't even join the group chat, just jumped in to shoot some dudes. First match, usual 20 kills 15 deaths kind of thing. I decided I'd turn my scorestreaks way up. Who cares if I get a half dozen UAV's or crappy care packages in a round?

Second match, I cycled through the new streaks I had on... sentry gun, wraith and R.A.P.S.. just absolutely tore through the team. Once all my streaks were going, I just sat in the farmhouse on Fringe drinking the beer I had poured. Their team spawned on that side, luckily we had a UAV up so I saw them coming... turned on the purifier and just walked out of the house throwing fire. Ended the round with the kill cam, tossing a C4 over a wall on to a dude that was just hiding in a corner. Finished 59 and 10. I'll have to see if I can go back and record some highlights later. At least the glorious purifier moment.

Another Russia first

Guy played Fallout 4 so much that he lost his job and wife. It is an addicting game. I'm about 60hrs in and not even close to finish the game. There is tons of buildings I just discovered and havent been in yet. Now I want to play more of it.

My wife told me about this.

I had to ask her if she was trying to tell me something metaphorically.

the 28-year-old man is suing Bethesda, the developer of the game, for 500,000 roubles ($7,000) after losing his job and his wife

$7,000. She must have been hideous. Or a bad cook?

EDIT: I'm sure Bethesda is just going to cut him a check from the roughly 1.2-baZILLION dollars they now have sitting around.

He managed to pry himself away from the game long enough to talk to a lawyer, apparently.

I like it! It was much easier than I thought it would be to get up to RAPS. Sentry gun is a quick score, then wraith usually lights up a team. Probably could've got mothership but didn't want to get too crazy. Maybe this weekend... with all the Christmas noobs

It's too bad that CoD: Advance Warfare is a dead game. It was my favourite from that franchise in a long time.

Favorite? That's tough man, I was not a fan of the boost jumping. I think MW3 was mine. The parkour movement system was fluid and the guns were interesting, yet still felt realistic. Ever since, nothing has compared to walking down the tunnel on Hardhat while unloading the M60E4. The biggest thing I miss are the old guns.

I liked the boost jumping. It added a new tactic to the game, and the pace of the battle was much faster than other games - it had some Quake-like characteristics, even. I know this isn't the popular opinion of the game, but I thought it was a welcome change of pace.

I also only game on the PC (which in my opinion has vastly, objectively better controls ie keyboard and mouse), so looking "up" wasn't an issue. Of course, the playerbase was much smaller to begin with compared to on consoles, so of course it died early. Ah well; lots of other FPS games out there.

Oh. PC. Yeah using a mouse to aim would have changed things a bit. I miss my computer. $2000 gaming system I had built. The coolermaster fan broke and the motherboard melted the day after the 2 year warranty ran out. Now I've got a $2000 end table.

Ah. PC. I still play COD:AW on Xbone occasionally. Don't see it and BO3 as being all that different.

Which is why I didn't buy BO3 haha. I normally only buy every other COD game as there isn't enough change in gameplay between subsequent games to justify the pricetag IMO.

I was really hesitant, but kids. Now they've their sight set on Rainbow Six for the rumors of realistic guns. And Far Cry, and Just Cause, and ...

It never ends.

I think this BO3 game is massively different than all the others. The specialists alone make it drastically different. I haven't played any of the Far Cry games, but Far Cry: Primal is intriguing...

I considered checking out Rainbow Six: Siege but after watching a clip, the graphics looked horrible. I've had my fill of that look with Fallout.

If you find Far Cry 4 in a bargain bin somewhere, pick it up... you will not be disappointed. I'd still pay ~$30 for it at this point, beautiful graphics and more fun than it should be.

I'd agree that Specialist does add-to, but would not agree that it is drastically different. Most every aspect of the game is a rinse repeat of AW except that BO3 adds the specialist and wall running. I don't consider map changes all that pivitol in changing gameplay experience.
