Balls.

Kicking myself, I still probably would have lost after tomorrow but at least I'd be in the lead tonight if I hadn't swapped around the Pats' rookie TEs. Had Hernandez, swapped him out for Gronk. ****.

Maybe AP'll lay it on the ground a half-dozen times tomorrow. Gonna be cold, you know?

So is there any money at stake for 3rd place, or can I just pretend next week doesn't exist?

What about the reward of stiff competition? I surely hope you show up.

I was hopeful yesterday morning that my team would at least upt up a fight. Unfortunately, the combination of poor outings by Jones-Drew and the Philadelphia Defense did me in.

Congrats to those still in the running.

Oh, it's not like I'm going to bench anybody, I just may not be scouring the wires for players (like a better friggin' defense).

****ing Michael Vick. ****ing Giants. Stopped paying attention to the games at around halftime of the 1:00 games, Vick had negative points and the Giants had like 12 or 14 on D. Come back after the games are over, and the Giants' D has 2, Vick has like eight thousand. and DeSean's only points came from that punt return. At least some of Vick's TD passes could have gone to DeSean!

Still liked the team I ended up with. Brady and Rothlesberger as my QBs. Best WRs in the league - Nicks, Colston, Austin Collie, DeSean, Malcolm Floyd, Santana Moss, Danny Woodhead. Running backs sucked mostly (thanks for nothing, DeAngelo), but Monero came on late. **** you, Ronnie Brown. Mike Tolbert was great all year.

Just sucks that the Pats have one bad game for fantasy purposes, and it was this week! ****, last week during my bye I would have had ~150 points.

Aren't you a financial guy, Bird? You surely know the importance of diversification.

In my other FFB league, I am way too heavy on Eagles. Vick, McCoy and Jackson on that team, and I even had their DEF at one point. I thought yesterday was going to be the end of me in that league at halftime because I had too many eggs in one sinking basket. That battle isn't over yet. I've got a Viking linebacker and a 12 point lead vs the Chicago DEF.

I'm like Warren Buffett, dude - keep your eggs in one basket, and watch that basket!

Two games that really decided the season for me yesterday. Philly/Eagles; you had Vick and someone else, I had Hakeem Nicks, DeSean, and the Giants D. I *knew* that game was the biggie. Left the office at halftime, Giants in control, Vick's got negative points. Run errands all afternoon, come back... friggin' diaster. Oh well, Brady can put up a 35-spot even quicker than Vick... but bupkis, basically. Put up a lot of points, but some are defensive points, one TD's a Benny run that does me no good, and I've got the wrong tight end starting.

I didn't really MEAN to have that many Patriots on my roster. I drafted Brady because I thought he was going to have a great season and I didn't want to worry about the QB spot, didn't want to have to rely on guys like Tomo Romo and McNabb like in previous seasons.

I picked up Mayo early on to play D because he always seems to get double-digit tackles. I'd rather have a guy who's going to get me 8-10 points a week consistently than someone who gets more sacks and has occassional huge games, but then disappears. DeMarcus Ware did that to me last year, he'd be spectacular and then get two points.

I drafted Gronk originally with the very last pick, and then swapped for Hernandez, because Brady was targeting them like crazy and my other tight ends sucked. Can't even remember who I drafted originally. Watch out for Hernandez, especially, next year; the dude's the next coming of Dallas Clark.

Woodhead, I grabbed because he's WR-eligible yet plays mostly as a running back, so he gets a lot more touches than most wideouts. I like having a RB at the W/R spot, and he's better than the other ******** RBs I've got (Ronnie Brown, Ryan Matthews). Kicking myself for not picking up someone like LaGarrett Blount earlier in the season,

So, never really intended to have so many Patriots, but they all were guys that seemed to be the best option at the time.

I've sent OB an email, asking who got first and second, but haven't heard back yet.

I REALLY want to pay out the money to the winners this weekend.

Who wants to tell me the winner, and second place, and how much they win?

My memory tells me the winner gets $225 and the second place gets $25? Is that right?

And I know Walker must have won, since he said so. But who got second? Oh, yeah, PM me your paypal address, so I can get rid of this money!

Second was me. I have no idea on the pay offs - wasn't paying attention at that point.

I thought I just wasn't paying attention either, but I went back and looked through the thread, and the payout structure was never defined. :D

Hell, I don't even remember how much I paid in because I was in two leagues with two different buy-ins; one for $20 and one for $25.

I wasn't in this league last year, so I don't know how it worked then.

But, yes... I won. Bearcat was 2nd. JohnnyO was 3rd.

Commish (ohiobrewtus): how does it work?

The way that *I* remember the rules, if the winner of the Fantasy League hasn't made good on his week 1 side wager (Patriots-Bengals), he forfeits all his winnings to the fourth-place finisher. My memory's a little selective, however.

Well, I think it is obviously $1 for 1st and the rest for second;).

If it wasn't defined, I guess whatever we used last year is fine - I benefitted from it by being first last year, so fair enough I lose out the same way by being second this time around.

I *think* that two years ago, the top three finishers all got money. I think I may have finished third one year, and Yooper just tore up my check, as third place was just getting back the entry fees. I had been under the impression that this year was just $$ for the top two finishers, though.

Yes, I'm a deadbeat ****** on that debt. I will get it out friday, with a little something extra thrown in. Pint glass from local brewery or something like that.

Looks like last year was 200/75/25 from the post I found and I verified from my PayPal account that I got $200 for first, but that was with 12 teams and we now have 10. If we do 3 then how about taking them down somewhat proportional - 170/60/20. If we do 2, then roughly proportional of what 1st and 2nd were last year - 185/65. Any other suggestions?

I'm cool with 3rd getting his money back. I didn't start the season hoping to make money, so getting anything back at all awesome.

I promise to invest it in my brewery.

Or build a smoker.

One of the two.

OOPS!

1st was 2-tun Mama (Walker)
2nd was Eat Cheese or Die (Bearcat Brewmeister)
3rd was Stout Troopers (John O)

Ok, what's the payout?

There is $250 in the pot.

How about:
$175
$50
$25

as mentioned above? That way the third place finisher gets back their entry fees, and the first place and second place get a bit more?
