I used Belgian Carapils instead of US Carapils in my Pale ale and it came out great!

This latest batch I used the 1056 and my LHBS didn't have the US carapils, so I traded out for the Belgium. And the beer has a very dry but almost subtle coffee malt taste that blends with the cascade hops perfectly.

This was batch number 5 for me, and I love this hobby!!!! Just wanted to share that sometimes very subtle changes make incredible beer!

Cheers!

I'm fairly certain that carapils does not impact flavor or aroma. But if your happy, good on ya.

I didn't think so either, I used it for the head retention. In my notebook I wrote Belgium carapils malt.

But, it was the only variable I changed. I dunno *shrugs*, the wife noticed it also, and it fermented rather low on average 66 as I made a water bath in my basement.

I'm gonna run with it and hope I can repeat it!
