Alright, well here is Indiana law on the matter of sales times:

Notice it doesn't say anything about giving discounts on products except the two for one deal. This is why liquor stores can give discounts on bulk wine purchases. People in Indiana just blanket that happy hour law over just about everything...

Who the hell are you and how did you gain access to backfat's account? You've given yourself away, backfat doesn't post **** that isn't funny.

Did they give you any details? i mean, if it's a legit deal than i want in... if it's something like "ok ok, how about two funnk fest tickets" then i'll stop paying attention!

They haven't made any public statement that they're working on it and they still have the buy page up at the secret barrel page. I'm thinking the 'revisions' aren't going to be too drastic.

Someone on Facebook mentioned that Upland has since deleted a comment they made that they would only hold bottles for 2 weeks.

Guess what dumb ass has two thumbs and paid before reading the fine print?

That's right....this gigantic loser mother ****** typing this post.

Just when I thought Upland couldn't piss me off any more.

Touche. Way to take advantage of a retard.

Wait, wait, how mad are you?... So mad you could punch a horse?

"While we attempted to make the benefits of the Secret Barrel Society as straightforward as possible, we apologize for any confusion it has caused since it launched earlier today. Secret Barrel Society membership includes free entry to Sour Wild and Funk Fest, a members-only event following SWFF, and a food and sour pairing event at the brewery in 2014. Furthermore, there are a couple new sour ales in the works that will only be available to members. It is illegal in Indiana to pre-sell or discount beer in any fashion, which disables us from being able to offer the same type of membership benefits that other breweries use to structure similar offers. The lottery will still be an option as usual."

I don't think they get it.

I mean, a bunch of events could make it a good value, but you can't guarantee you'll be able to make the events. They really need to just include some ******* beer in the thing, there has to be a way to do it that's legal.

They should have just sold tickets in advance then. I just don't understand how they thought this would have been a very well received idea.

Fixed.

I'm just glad they f'ed this up. I'll be in PDX in November buying all the HotD, Cascade, and De Garde I can, plus I hope to jump on CS membership when it becomes available. Adding another $250 for an Upland membership would have been brutal. Luckily I'm smarter than Mongo.

Srs. Got dollars, holler.

Since you are openly mocking me I can only assume you are going to hook a brother up.

if they have some beers that are only available to members then those should retail for $0.01. It isn't a discount or special price, that is the MSRP, just only select people have the option to buy them
I'm assuming most liquor control boards don't look kindly on **** like this.

What they needed to do was just give you a $150, $200, or $250 gift card and say it's for your beers.

I've requested a refund. I'm waiting on a response. I hope they either bring a plan that shows some respect, or refund anyone who mistakenly signed up for such a joke of a club (Ya know, Mordor and I...).

Haven't heard back on my email just yet.

They probably would have had much better luck with a kickstarter where they could have established graduated levels of contribution. Want a custom teku? $20. Want first access to lambics? $???

Anything is better than this. I hope other breweries take notice and realize that tactics like this are going to result in an internet beatdown on every social media outlet and beer message board on the internet.

Disclaimer - I really enjoy Upland lambics and wanted to purchase this...until I realized you dont get ANY BEER.

It does say no refunds after placing an order now. You may want to call.

It's ridiculous, I feel like they are using the law as an excuse to have a terrible members society. Even if I had the money I don't think I could every spend it on that. The best part of the El Catador club is that it comes with beer.
