While attempting to take a final gravity reading this morning the bottom half of my meath injector (all I have) fell into the fermenter. It was well sanitized and has not given me any issues in the past but what i'm worried about was having to reach into the fermentor to get it out. A portion of it was at the bottom. Have I ruined my beer?

Doh! I would just leave it in there. just wait till you transfer to secondary or bottle to recover it... or you can spray your arm with star san and go in after it. wont be the first time someone stuck their arm in the beer, I've done it.

I would assume that it is food grade, in which case, I'd leave it. No matter how well you sanitize your arm, its gotta be more dangerous that leaving a plastic food container in there.

On the other hand, I ended up sticking my hand in a batch to get a yeast packet out, but that was because it had a paper label on it...
