Tulsa/Jenks, OK brewpubs or bars?

I'm heading to Jenks, OK for a buddy's wedding nest weekend and I would love to find a brewpub or just a great place to drink some microbrews. I know Jenks is on the south side of Tulsa and we would like to stay near that area. Anybody know of a great watering hole? I thought I'd ask the experts here first.

Hmmmmm.......I am from the area, but my favorite places are downtown. Mcnellie's Public House http://mcnellies.com/site/sections/1 and Fassler Hall http://www.fasslerhall.com/ . Both unique and awesome!!! It is definataly worth the trip downtown to check them out. As far as out south by Jenks I'd say Louie's on the river, but it is nowhere near as cool as the first two spots.

Ok....I am still thinking for you here. Check this place out. They have decent beers, not a huge selection, but good enough, but the pizza is great. Big screens to watch some games on too. It is out south and worth a look. http://www.savastanospizzeria.com/

I've been back from Tusla a few weeks now but we did go to McNellies. That place was awesome. Great atmosphere and beer selection.

This just reminded me of how lacking we are of real culture here in Tulsa and the burbs. I second, Mcnellies. I frequent Andolinis here in Owasso. Www.andospizza.com. They have a decent beer list (Chimay and Grimbergen) and their garlic knots are to die for. They have a location on Cherry St. (15th St), but they don't list their beer list for that location online. I had a good beer at Waterfront grill in Jenks once, but that's been over a year ago. Let us know what you find in Jenks after your visit and I guess if you get real hard up let us know and we will deliver a home brew. I have an ESB bottled and ready to drink.

I loved McNellies. As for Jenks, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Iowa game and later that night went to the Midnight Rodeo. Our hotel was right next to Waterfront Grill but never had enough time to make it there. The funny thing about all these waterfront places and riverwalks, there's no water in the river! It seemed quite comical.

Kilkenny's on cheery street is awesome (they got me hooked on franziskaner heffeweizen). Great food, good pub menu (and it's within walking distance so I can drink up). McNellie's is cool too, definitely a Tulsa staple with the $3 burger night. Check out Fassler Hall too, a German style bar with a good selection of booze. 'm not sure if Oktoberfest will be on when you get in town but they usually have a great selection of beers (Marshall's Oktoberfest '10 was amazing) and if you're nice to the ticket takers they might even hook you up with free beer.

Great to hear you at least found some brew! As for water, that's a bit scarce around here. About that brew pub question. Everyone from Oklahoma correct me if I'm wrong. If a restaurant brews their own beer on premises in our state are they required to stay at or below 3.2 alcohol? Marshals is a local brewery here in tulsa, but they play by the same rules as BMC and sell through the distributor the way I understand it? And does Choc have a brew pub in OKC down on brick town? I had a Rogue Dead Guy at Louie's on campus last night in Norman too by the way. Sorry to thread jack Scherrman.

No worries aberry. Your info seems pretty relevant to me. I only had two nights out in the Tulsa area so McNellies was basically it for us. I did bring home some Marshalls though. There was a liquor store across from our hotel and that was our first stop when we got there. I've had some Choc beer before from my beer of the month club. It was pretty solid.

I'm interested to hear your review of the Marshall you picked up. Which version also? Mustang brewery is another one here in OK also. Choc is decent, but its been a while since I've had one.

Marshall, Coop, Red River, Mustang, Choc, Heuberts are the breweries out of OK. Lots of brewpubs with varied levels of quality but all under the 3.2 cap thumb.

Yep I have been in Owasso for 5 years and those are the only places worth going. That is the thing I miss about socal!

Thanks for posting these. I had forgotten about Red River and Coop, but I had never heard of Heuberts. I will be Googling them.

Heuberts is less about beer these days. They are more well known for their Hard Root Beer. IIRC, they also contract out their brewery for a African brand.
