I am not sure if you can see in the pictures, but I think I used a piece of 12ga and also laid it over the traces to and from the Triac. From a fast life as a pcb designer the traces did not seem able to handle more than 10 amps.

That and the fan and I think this is a great, cheap solution. Especially if you want to use your kettle with a tall piece of copper on the top and need a steady adjustable power input. (Cough cough)

Ha, I am good. I already got that letter from governmental agency after having purchased what was intended to be a mash tun.
