This question came up recently with a friend...

Is there a consumable good currently sold in the U.S with the consistent daily demand as Tree House Brewing?

The question arose when a reading a bunch of "this is what ___ brewery is doing, so Tree House should do ___".

I may be missing a few of the obvious, but they're consistently averaging 2-3k people lining up to purchase a consumable good.

I've never been, but the only thing I could think of that could possibly be in the same realm... Austin , TX BBQ?

I admittedly may have missed the spirit of this question and be stating the obvious, but if we are just talking straight demand...A shitload. A ton of consumables have higher demand than TH daily by many many multiples. Post-its, toner, milk, bread etc.,. Even breaking the general categories into companies TH is beat by way more than a few.

If you sold any of these items through the Tree House model of Wed-Sat, short hours, low limits the **** show that would take place would make TH look like the joke it is compared to the true giants in consumable goods.

I mean every macro beer on the shelf has a higher consistent daily demand than TH. You don't need to line up for it but the demand is enormous. If you just want to know if there are other places people line up everyday and work through a similar volume of customers...the number is small.

The image of thousands of miserable office workers lined up for their toner and post-it allocation is just too much.

I had taken a year-and-a-half break from Tree House (to avoid the chaos and madness) but broke down and finally visited the new Charlton location last month.

I noticed two things:

1) Everyone who works for Tree House is friendly. And they always smile. Even when the lines are long and the people are being difficult. It is nice to see a brewery that continues to take care of its customers while maintaining a positive attitude.

2) The consumer demographic has changed, considerably. I used to run into a lot of cool people in line at Tree House. They all came from different backgrounds and possessed varying levels of craft beer knowledge and wisdom, but in general they were pleasant people to wain in line with. Now, however, the number of people who see Tree House beer as a commodity has increased dramatically. The group in front of me kept asking if the limits were going to drop because the three of them had already agreed to ship off their IPA's across the country for a whale of a bottle. They kept a three man chain smoke going for about ten minutes, so I decided to let a few people go in front of me. The new guy in front of me then told me that he has a buyer group at work that offers him twice the retail price for each can of Tree House he brings to work. It makes his days off worthwhile, even if it means standing in line for an hour. And, while I was in line, there were guys walking around with a rolling cooler full of IPA's and a list of beers. He struck up a conversation with me and informed me that my Foam and BBCo. cans had no trade value. Overall, it was disappointing to see that the one positive that came from waiting in line from Tree House all those years ago (getting to know strangers and establishing trade partners) has been replaced with perhaps a more realistic representation of what craft beer has slowly evolved into.

TLDR: The staff at Tree House is awesome. The people waiting in line...Not so much. But the beer is worth it.

Maybe these people need to be ridiculed to their faces often enough in the hopes of driving them back out of craft beer.

We should start taking out Craigslist ads for people to stand in line just to heckle shitbags.
It's too bad my friend Rob moved, he would've been so good for that.

Wait, you want to hire line mules to insult line mules?

That's almost entirely a bummer to hear, of course. I'll be checking out the new Tree House spot at the end of next week, and unfortunately this is pretty much exactly what I expected to encounter.

Bummer that those Foam and BBCo. cans don't have any trade value though... I guess you'll have to just drink and enjoy them instead? ;)

My buddy will be driving through tomorrow around 6pm...would it be worth a stop at that point? Does everything mostly sellout? Can you drink onsite?

Might wanna let your friend know it could be a madhouse today. 4 cans for sale with one unannounced, and basically everyone assuming it will be Juice Machine

Can basically guarantee no full pours today if the second can is JM. BoatsAndHoes keep an eye on the TH twitter and notify your buddy accordingly once the announcement is made.

But everyone speculates like psychopaths every single day that its going to be a nonexistent IPA "whale".

...and then they all cry when it's Bright.

Seeing people get all worked up over cans that aren't likely to be available is both the most maddening and enjoyable thing about all the TH fanboys.

Some dude is ranting on FB about them manipulating their fans and forcing them to buy old man. ******* whackjob.

I don’t think this has been posted here , so here ya go

http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/news/20170913/beer-nut-tree-house-strives-to-meet-demand

“We’re still running out (of beer),” said Rohan. “We were getting 5,000 people a week (in Monson). Now we’re getting 15,000. It’s crazy.”

The goal, Rohan said, is to be able to brew enough beer that there aren’t hundreds, even thousands of people, waiting in line every day when they open because they fear the beer will sell out. He said they hope to have a steady stream of beer available so they can have pints throughout the day, can sales all day and then use the outdoor pavilion area where people can hang out, drink beer and listen to live music.

I'm very happy for them but I don't plan to ever go to that brewery ever again. Once they move to Charlton, maybe a different story, but I am past the point in my life that I am willing to deal with that level of **** for beer. I can drive to Hill Farmstead and back in barely more time than driving to TH, waiting in line, and then driving back.

This was a year and a half ago and it does not appear anything has changed.

Every day that goes by with people still spending their hard earned time at Tree House then complaining about:
  1. Limits
  2. Idiots in line
  3. Good Morning/JM/King Julius/Very Hazy/Very Green/etc. not being available
  4. Things selling out too fast
Makes me question even more why most people are in this hobby or why seemingly rational people still spend their time at Tree House.

I have absolutely nothing against the Tree House staff, who are (in my experience) great or the beer, which is (in my experience, with very few exceptions), great. I just don't understand the cost/benefit.

It would seem they're in it for maxxx profitz

the customers not the staff

At this point, I don't see why they would ever want to release Good Morning again at the brewery. It's not like they need the additional foot traffic. They should brew Good Morning exclusively for local businesses on draft to help drive up business and be a good neighbor. Or something similar. God, **** these fanboys.

Thanks for the heads up! The unannounced can is doppelbanger. Line is at 60 minutes per twitter :(
