Well, drink up!

I am saddened by the fact that Lolo's shipment won't get to him until Monday. I didn't want to run the risk of shipping USPS and having an awesome shipment of beer being thrown in the garbage (or consumed by USPS staff) and being blacklisted for future shipments...so I shipped UPS. Rats.

All of my shipments are going out usps from now on.

And I had her make room in the fridge crushing one of those Ghandis tonight.

I'm going to try USPS on my next shipment. Problem is where I live, they ask for liquid/alcohol/etc. as if they were robots programmed to ask before even saying HI to you at the counter. I'm just hoping it gets by without any problems. I may have to do a test shipment with some crappy beers that don't cost too much money. Anyone want some Gandhi-Bot and 668 to test with? :D

Ooh me, me! Usps doesn't check, you just hafta lie. I have a FedEx account and it's pretty reasonable for larger boxes.

TNGabe, for example, if I ship 10-12 brews out (15 lb. package) cross-country, it costs me roughly $30-37 depending on the size of the box shipping via UPS.

As a result, I try to ship as many cans as possible. Price (being able to fit more cans than bottles - less weight) being one of the reasons and the other being risk of damaged container (punctured can or broken bottle).

I just created a FedEx account and then checked pricing on two packages I sent last week. In both cases, FedEx was about 15% less than UPS. I have a $10 rewards card from UPS that I'll use on my next shipment, but otherwise it will be FedEx now (or I will explore USPS for shipments that will fit in the prepaid boxes)

Mark, my last comment was the pricing for ~15 lbs. with the shipping label being printed at home (my own UPS account). It's a tad cheaper than when I ship from the store directly.

That's to much I sent a 30# whale to Wes and it was less than $30.00 using FedEx.

I got quotes from UPS & FedEx with print-at-home labels using my accounts as well. For the same package (weight & box dimensions) FedEx was about 15% cheaper. Made the choice a no-brainer.

Speaking of FedEx - Gabe, did you get the vials I sent? FedEx says they left them by your back door.

I'll letcha know, I'm sending 16 lbs to Missouri tomorrow, I bet it's about 12$ though. It's too big for usps priority.

Every time I've ever checked, FedEx has always been cheaper than UPS for the same shipment.
And USPS has always been about $10+ higher than FedEx using my account.

And Remmy, I'll take some test shipment beer. :D

I think the only time usps is worth it is if it's a small shipment and can fit inside the priority flat rate box

Most of my trades involve mostly yeast with a few bottles tossed in to sweeten the deal. So I think as long as it fits, it's usps for me, ups just takes too long.

I'm going to gladly disregard the above comment.

I would definitely use USPS flat rate boxes for small shipments. I just haven't made any that would fit. Well, one, but I wanted to make sure TNGabe received his Triple Bock without any problems. ;)

I sent a 21 pounder to VT (just outside Burlington) and it was 13.16 from FedEx and UPS wanted 17.39 so I was wrong - FedEx was almost 25% less.

I sent 4 Gandhi out to VT via UPS and it costed me $16. WTF

I'm assuming it was a small box.
Two words, dimensional weight.

I wonder who that could have been? I wish I could create a FedEx account but Vermont doesn't have a fed ex home delivery store. Just a express and that's it. Does any one know if that would work to? Last time I called fed ex about a similar question. They guy could barely speak English :)

I'll have to go figure out how to check it.. not real familiar with how it works yet.

if you are on the league home page, its a small icon on the right side under notifications that says trades. that will take you to your team and another small link above your first player that says proposed trade. click on details and accept :D
