I just bottled my first batch of beer. OG was 1.083 and FG was 1.028. I bottled 4.5 gallons (45 bottles) with 115g of Dextrose. Will I have bottle bombs? I bottled 4 days ago.
115 grams is 4 ounces, no way will you have a problem, might be a tad lighter on the carbonation actually. The general average is 5oz for 5 gallons but I tend to use more - usually between 5.2-5.8 oz depending on the beer.
It's fine as long as the fermentation is definitely done. Each volume of co2 is only a couple gravity points, if it still had .06 to go you'll probably explode some beer.
It was definitely done fermenting, same hydro reading 3 times 3 days apart. I had ran across http://www.brewersfriend.com/beer-priming-calculator/ and it was showing I should have only used 2.7oz. The kit called for all 5 oz but I figured it would have made it way too carbonated for a Scotch Ale.
