I was planning to add 6oz of sugar to my beer before bottling. However, turns out the scales are broken! I put about 2 oz too much in!

With enough time - will the yeasties eat it all?

Thanks Guys

Yes, the yeasties will eat it all, and then.......BOOM!
Too much priming sugar can result in bottle bombs.

So you ended up using 8 oz. of priming sugar? What was the batch size? What style of beer?

lager (ale yeast), 5 gallons.

I ave notbottled yet for fear of bombs. I have a pressure barrel (a thick air tight plastic barrel) that I have put it in. It could stay there?

(I like carb)

If it's not bottled just let it ferment out for a few days then re-prime with the correct amount.

I posted the amount of dextrose i usually use for a 5 gallon batch but I figured my formula is not using the same measurement system as people in the US so i removed my post, why the hell cant we delete our own posts?
