I just read a post about someone adding too much priming sugar and I am well aware that may lead to grenades.

Anyway, if someone added too much priming sugar before bottling would a possible solution be to bottle the beer but only fill each bottle like two thirds of the way full instead of up to the neck like usual?

That's just my stupid observation, though. Thoughts?

If you realized it right away you could let it ferment in the bucket with the lid and airlock on. Then after fermentation stops reprime. That is what I would do.
