Too much damn steam!

So this may be one of the more stupid questions i have asked:

I am brewing with my keggle right now and it is so steamy that I cant see in AT ALL. when the wort is boiling, i really dont care too much whats happening because its just gonna go for about an hour, but leading up to the boil, i cant see since its so steamy so i cant tell if its boiling or not!

and listening for it wont work, my burner is like a damn jet engine. any suggestions?
 
Wait for summer or get a long probe thermometer that will reach the wort. I have a long one and leave the lid on until the temp hits 200 degrees and then I know I will be boiling within minutes.

Call the beer blind eye brew :p
