Hello all,
This site has been extremely useful for me on my quest to become a home brewer. As summer is upon us in Los Angeles, I was looking to brew a Kölsch-style beer, as I do not have the capability to make a proper lager. After looking at as many Kölsch recipes that I could scrounge up, I have put together th following as a simple extract recipe:
5# Pilsnen LME
1.5# Wheat LME
2 oz Halertau for 60 minutes
WLP029 Kölsch yeast
When I plugged this info into a calculator I got:
OG: 1.046
FG: 1.011
IBU: 18.08
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Forrest
