Threw this together, based mainly on leftovers i had laying around from a bunch of recipes this year.

3.15# Dark LME
3# Munich LME
2.5# Belgian Special B
.5# Chocolate Malt
.75# British 60
.25# Roasted Barley
1# Flaked Oat

1# Brown Sugar
1c Molasses
1 tsp vanilla extract (was that silly?)

1oz. Fuggles @ 60min
1oz Fuggles @ 15min

fake mashed @ 152ish @ 60min (just steeped on stove, but kept kissing it with flame and kept it between 148 and 154 at all times. does that even work???)

Threw it on a breakfast stout's yeast cake.

got an ounce of cascade laying around, might dry hop later.

any ideas what this make shift party might come out like? or recommendations on ways to have fun with it? thinking about maybe splitting the batch, and doing 2.5gal coffee stout, and 2.5gal black cherry stout. any ideas or recommendations, would be lovely. no idea how long i should sit on it.

OG was 1.058. was hoping for higher, but aren't we all...
decent bubbling this morning, after only 18 hours. blow off tube in effect.

this was just really fun for me. it's my 11th brew, and i've only done extract kits til now. even if it sucks, at least i tried something new. would love feedback on my first makeshift recipe!

Looks like a cloyingly sweet beer to me. Thats a ton of crystal malt for that OG with not a lot of hops to back it up.

thats what i'm talkin' about. pick up an extra higher AA oz. of hops for dry hoppin maybe? not too worried about what comes out. just experimenting for learnings sake.
