While I like beer, I also really like whiskey. would it be possible to make a whiskey noted beer?

Sure... it would probably involve aging in a whiskey barrel. Innes and Gunn make a beer like that: Innis & Gunn - Oak Aged Beer

Sounds intriguing. You could certainly get peated malt and smoked malt, and you could add oak chips. It might be difficult to use all those things and still make it tasty, though. By which I mean, it seems like a little bit goes a long way with peat and smoke.

Its interesting you mention this .. as I have had just about the best bourbon beer in all of time tonight. The creator takes a porter and ages it in jack daniels wiskey barrels .... yummy! It was great ... at 20 proof I must say I couldnt taste the alcohol at all. Perfect stuff.

We've made Bourbon Barrel Old Ale from Midwest a couple times. It gives you the flavor of the whiskey added without the burn.
