I just bought today about using snow as brew water just to say I did. Wondering if this is scientifically possible but to not sidetrack this thread I am going to post inquiry in new post.

I have half a keg left, two batches of beer brewing, and 5 gallons of mead going. What should I start next week??? Along with can I upgrade one or two more kegs in my fridge.

Also; Hi my name is Jon, I'm a home brewer. It's been three days since I've brewed....

When you go shopping with the wife to the out lets and every store you walk out of was around $30 and you think there is 5gals of beer and did this in my head 5 times over it was a tuff day thank god tröegs is right next to it to wash my sorrows down lol, and my beer total was cheaper then anything at the outlets lol

Some thoughts I've had over the course of my home brewing career...

What equation do I need to use to calculate the equivalent water displacement of 12 pounds of grain in my 7 gallon mash tun?

If my fermentation chamber holds 2 fermenters, and I need to ferment for 1 week... And I use the same chamber to cold crash beer... and my friends and I drink about 5 gallons of my beer every two weeks... How do I stagger brewing, fermentation, cold crashing, and drinking so that I can maintain 8 full kegs at all times?

I really wish I could brew beer for a living.

Why doesn't my wife like my beer?

I wish my neighbor wouldn't drink so much of my beer.

Man... this carboy is heavy.

How can I bottle beer faster?

I really hate bottling beer.

I hope I didn't just kill my yeast.

Hearing all the news about the water contamination in West Virginia... man, that's rough. If that happened here, I might not be able to brew.

Sitting here, sick as a dog, achy, sore throat, congested, sinus headache, thought of beer makes me wanna puke...... watching my airlock bubble slowly.

No worries, that's why ya boil it.

Not quite, that contaminant was not removed by boiling. You would have to distilled it or diluted it by about 100,000:1 to remove enough of it to not be noticeable. That was after it was diluted by the normal river flow.

Personally, I was not in that part of the state, but quite a few friends were. After the water company flushed everything to get less than 1 ppb people were told to run their water from all faucets and flush the hot water tank for an hour before using any water.

Didn't see the news, what contaminant was it? We're dealing with the LACK of water out here in CA. But Obama came to town and he's gonna fix everything!... ugh.

sound healthier..but if i had ebola i would drink..no matter how sick i am..beer in the face..some people would call me a alcoholic but i dont agree life is great.

Sometimes I play "will it ferment" in my mind. "could I add this ham to the boil?"

The chemical is 4-methylcyclohexane methanol, a foaming agent used in coal preparation plants. Over 300,000 people had to get alternative water sources for everything except flushing toilets.

Oh... (sheepish) Yeah, that might not boil out, but head retention would be through the roof, although carcinogenic. Very unfortunate for those folks.

This is a really good beer, interesting yeast... maybe I should harvest it...

(Did this today, luckily I have clean vials and jars sitting around)

Hmm, another batch ready to keg, and no room in the kegerator, whatever shall I do...oh wait, thy glass just refilled itself...

I have the same issue tonight. One problem I don't mind having!
