On the hunt for a new thermometer. I know the Thermapen is probably the most highly recommended, but I'm not ready to drop that kind of cash (by "I'm not ready" I mean "my wife is ready to let me!") I think I've narrowed the search down to two and I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has used either one. Thanks!

Did you tell your wife that the Thermapen is also perfect for cooking and baking?

I don't have experience with the other thermometers, the RT301WA looks good though.

So many great Thermowoks thermometers to choose from. I have a ThermoPen and a ThermoPop and both are great. There's A long stem waterproof one on this page that looks nice too and $24 bucks. Im sure any one of these would cut it:

I noticed that the thermoworks thermometer is a bit more work to calibrate.

I've had the RT301WA for a few years now. Calibrated it once and it has been great. I recheck the calibration periodically and it has remained spot on. Next time I will get the long stem version.

I have the thermoworks rt600c which is dishwasher safe, so I have absolutely no qualms about dropping it in a pot. It's also nearly as fast and accurate as the therms pen.

Glass rod style? Got one with my original equipment kit. Quickly replaced it because it was so SSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW to get the temp.

Well sure, it takes a few seconds. Batteries never need replacing

Came in the mail today and spot on at 32 / 212. Very quick temp read. Hmm...what brewing toy do I need next?!
