Any suggestions on a thermometer for my keezer that has built in memory. I am trying to decide if I need a heat source and I need to figure out how low the temps are getting at night.
I got this and its fantastic. I cannot recommend it enough. Comes prewired and I can store 6 different fermentation profiles. Each one can have 10 temp steps and each step can be as long as 40 days! I can even set it to ramp between 2 points or just jump up/down. It also costs like half the price of buying something similar from a site. Pre-orders are open but go fast so act quickly!
Raspberry pi seems like a lot of work to figure out if I need a heat source in my freezer.
At this point I may just have to get up at various points in the day/night and write down the temperature reading inside freezer. Cost effective but I do lose sleep
Yes, I will be using the stc1000 but that doesn't answer what I am trying to accomplish
Thermoworks makes some decent usb data loggers, that will give you an entire profile and not just a low and a high. Your low or high could be a fluke and you will get spikes from opening the door. Make sure you pay attention to resolution, though. I think that the cheaper ones are ±4°F, but I don't recall exactly.
I have bought two different acurite thermometers from Lowes like that one and both of their remote wireless probes no longer communicate with the base. The base works fine on both of them and I keep one in the keezer but that defeats the big advantage of these of not having to open the keezer to see the temp.
